As many of you know, Johnston’s Fry Shack has not yet reopened, and we understand many in the community are wondering why, as we have received a wonderful amount of interest in its reopening.

For over a year, we have been working diligently with the Township of Oro-Medonte, navigating red tape and the required approval processes in hopes of reopening and continuing to serve this amazing community.

When we first opened Johnston’s Fry Shack, our goal was to create a place where families and friends could gather, enjoy great food, and make lasting memories at our great location.

We remain committed to working with the township to continue operations and find a path forward for Johnston’s Fry Shack.

We truly appreciate your patience, support, and understanding during this time. Your continued encouragement means more to us than words can express.

We look forward to the future of Johnston’s Fry Shack and will continue to keep the community updated as we receive further information.

Dear friends, family, and loyal customers,

We want to start by saying how deeply sorry we are for not being fully transparent with you.

From the very beginning of the year, we had high hopes of opening Johnston’s Fry Shack for another season. We truly believed it was possible, and we did not want to disappoint you while we worked through the challenges behind the scenes.

Unfortunately, those challenges with zoning have proven too great for us to overcome at this time. As much as we tried to find a way forward, it has become clear that opening this season is simply not realistic.

That being said, Johnston’s Fry Shack is not going anywhere. We remain committed to serving our community again in the future, and we will keep you updated as we continue working toward that goal. It’s clear we let you down.
