Feeling incredibly thankful for gifts that mean more than money ever could. ❤️

My Aunty Lorraine recently gifted me this beautiful beaded necklace, and I’m absolutely stoked to have it. She told me she wanted me to have it because when my late uncle passed, I stepped up and helped where I could without ever expecting anything in return.

Beside it are two beaded baskets that my late Grandma Wendy gifted me, handmade by my other late grandmother, Mildred. Having pieces made and passed down through family like this is something I’ll never take for granted.

These aren’t just beautiful pieces — they carry family, stories, teachings, love and spirit. They’re priceless, irreplaceable, and something I’ll cherish and eventually pass down to the next generation. ❤️

Another great stop during a busy summer. 🙌

I had the opportunity to share Indigenous food, stories, and culture through a cooking demo and talk with the amazing team at Red Fish Healing Centre.

Today was all about family, community, food, laughter, and celebrating our culture together.

I couldn’t help but think about my father, my grandfathers, and all those who came before us. They passed down the stories, teachings, and traditions that continue to shape who we are today.

I’m proud to be Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and grateful to celebrate with the rest of the Nation. Here’s to keeping our culture strong and sharing it with the next generation.

Today I celebrate more than an anniversary—I celebrate the strength of our people, our language, our culture, and the teachings that have been passed down through generations.

I think about my father, my grandfathers, and all those who came before me. Their resilience, knowledge, and love for our people continue to guide me every day. As a chef, it’s an honour to share our stories through food, keeping our traditions alive while creating new memories for future generations.

I’m beyond excited to celebrate 103 years of the Squamish Nation with the rest of our Nation today. Here’s to our ancestors, our Elders, our youth, and the generations still to come.

Happy 103rd Anniversary, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw. ❤️
