Chapter 18 — A Fresh New Chapter 🌿

Northern Fields has never been about standing still.

What began in the fields of Northern Ontario has continued to grow, change and find new ways to bring our herbs to your table. And now, another chapter is beginning.

Over the past several months, I’ve been rethinking not only what Northern Fields creates, but how I can make it easier for you to discover our products, find inspiration and experience the story behind the food.

🌿 A refreshed website is taking shape — making it easier to shop online, find retailers carrying Northern Fields products and discover what’s new.

🍴 The Northern Fields Cooking Series is coming — taking our sauces, dressings, herbs, spice blends and other creations into the kitchen with recipes, cooking ideas and a few experiments along the way.

🥘 And the food will keep evolving. From handcrafted products to breads, beverages and an ever-changing selection of ready-made meals, there are still so many possibilities to explore.

The roots haven’t changed.

We’re simply discovering how many places they can take us.

Same roots. New flavours. More stories.

Chapter 17| Keep Going 🌱

Not every chapter is about growth you can see.

Some chapters are about standing in the rain.
Working through the setbacks.
Watching plans change.
And sometimes… wondering how many more challenges the road can possibly put in front of you.

Some days the rain comes down harder than expected. Some days the ground literally shifts beneath your feet.

But you keep going.

Not because you have everything figured out.
Not because every day feels inspiring.
But because somewhere along the way, you realize you’re stronger than you thought you were.

Northern Fields has had some incredible chapters, and it has had some difficult ones too. I’m learning that both deserve a place in the story.

Because growth doesn’t always look like success.

Sometimes growth is simply getting up the next morning and deciding that the story isn’t finished yet.

Every Herb Tells a Story… and today, another chapter begins.

I am incredibly proud to announce that Highway 8 Farm Fresh Country Market is officially Northern Fields’ first wholesale partner in Southern Ontario! 🌼

From the moment I walked through the door, Judie and Tammi made me feel so comfortable and welcome. They took the time to listen to the Northern Fields story, learn about the inspiration behind the products, and understand how every herb, recipe and creation is connected to the journey of this business.

What began as a conversation quickly became something very special. Judie chose to bring in nearly the entire Northern Fields collection currently available, with our handcrafted jellies and ready-made frozen comfort meals planned for a future delivery.

For a small business, moments like this mean so much. Every new retailer is more than another place to find our products. It is a new relationship, a new community and another person who believes in the story we are building.

🌿 A New Chapter Begins at Homesteaders Corner 🌿

We’re excited to share that Homesteaders Corner is now carrying a selection of fresh Northern Fields baked goods!

This week’s selection included:�🍞 Fresh bread & buns�🌼 Calendula Sourdough�🌿 Rosemary Loaves�🧄 Pull-Apart Garlic Bread�🍌 Banana Loaves�🍎 Apple Strudel Loaves�🍋 Lemon Poppyseed Loaves�🍊 Orange Cranberry Loaves

They have just about sold out and can take orders for delivery next week.

A heartfelt thank you to the team at Homesteaders Corner for supporting local makers and helping another chapter of the Northern Fields story reach more tables. Partnerships like these help keep handcrafted, small-batch baking alive in our community, and I’m truly grateful for your support.

In case you didn’t know, we are open today from 11 to 4 pm! ☀️🌿

🥧We still have 2 loaves of fresh baked calendula sourdough bread from Northern fields, few large pies from Sugar Daddy’s Bake Shop, and limited quantity of freshly pressed Juices from Juice Me Healthy.

🐄 Koveridge Farm is here today as well with a full restock of local meat, cured meats and more!

🌿 We have a good restock of Poschaven Flour, all your goodies from White River Refillery and all of our consignors with a variety of products.

🖼️ Mike Camp’s Art Gallery is open today as well!

🌿 What an incredible first tasting event!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by The Farmer’s Daughter today to sample Northern Fields.

It was wonderful meeting so many new faces, sharing the stories behind our products, and hearing your feedback.

The biggest hits of the day?
🧀 Creamy Mac & Cheese
🍗 Pulled Chicken Lasagna
🥒 (And yes… everyone kept asking for the Pickle Balls!)
🥣 Plus plenty of tasting of our handcrafted sauces and dressings.

A very special thank you to the owners and the entire team at The Farmer’s Daughter for your warm hospitality, support, and for welcoming Northern Fields into your beautiful store. Your passion for supporting local producers creates an incredible experience for both vendors and customers, and I’m truly grateful to be part of it.

This is just the beginning of another chapter for Northern Fields.
