Are you an early riser who loves food, creativity and being part of a busy café environment?

Brix + Mortar SocialHouse is looking for a full time kitchen team member to join us in Downtown Nanaimo.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, cares about the little details and understands that great hospitality starts long before a plate reaches the table.

The person we’re looking for is:

• Passionate about food and creating quality products • Creative and excited to contribute new ideas • Clean, organized and attentive to detail • Punctual, dependable and comfortable with early mornings • Able to work efficiently in a fast paced kitchen • Friendly and confident interacting with guests • Someone who takes pride in presentation and consistency • A team player with a positive attitude

Previous kitchen, café or baking experience is an asset, but we’re also interested in meeting the right person who has a genuine passion for food, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

At Brix + Mortar, hospitality is everyone’s responsibility. This position includes running food into our dining room and interacting with our guests, so we’re looking for someone who understands that a warm smile and thoughtful interaction are just as important as what comes out of the kitchen.

Shaded by charming blue and white striped umbrellas, the patio creates a bright, coastal-European atmosphere right in the heart of the city.

With 21 seats across 10 tables, the terrace is intimate yet lively, perfect for morning coffee, casual brunches, or relaxed afternoon meetings.
