Looks like spruce tip season is coming to an end, and I'm making sure to enjoy every last bit of it.
I spent some time this evening gathering a few final spruce tips to use for tea. These little bright green tips are packed with vitamin C and antioxidants, and they make a wonderfully fresh, citrusy tea that's been enjoyed for generations.
One of my favorite things about foraging is being able to connect with the seasons. Every wild harvest has its window, and spruce tips remind me to slow down and appreciate what's available right now before nature moves on to the next chapter.
Tonight's harvest will be finding its way into my teacup.
