Over the past few days, our community has experienced an unimaginable loss. The passing of a young child at Echo Dale has touched many hearts, and the outpouring of compassion from Medicine Hat and beyond has been remarkable.

This morning, some community members and I met with the family. The family expressed their heartfelt thanks for all the support they have received. The messages, prayers, condolences, fundraising efforts, visits, meals, and many other acts of kindness have shown them that they are not alone in this tragedy.

This loss is devastating. It still feels unreal for them, and they are taking it one day at a time as they process what happened. Close friends and family have gathered around, offering comfort, support, and a shoulder to lean.

At the family's request, we are respecting their privacy and will not be sharing identifying details at this time.
