Happy Saturday everyone.

Apparently I got cocky yesterday thinking that we made it to Friday and the rest was going to be easy, it was….in fact, not. We were three people down, two of us remained. We fought a good fight, but were horribly outnumbered and ended up having to close our kitchen early. Apologies to those that had to wait a long time for food and apologies to those we couldn’t serve. We served over 112 people in the hours we were open yesterday, and while that’s great considering it was only the two of us, it’s slower for you guys and it’s more stressful for us. I never know if it’s better to reduce services in these situations or just be closed completely, either way I feel I’m wrong.

Thanks again for your support, it means the world.

Happy finally Friday everyone!

Heck, this week was 1754 hours long, but we made it.

Many thanks to those that came out/took out our Salisbury Steak Dinner last night. That was the second in this series of two.
Our next series - Oct. 27th and Nov. 3rd is already fully booked. But watch for another announcement for a final set before the end of the year. (I can not believe we’re that close to the end of the year, but when you do things like this in 2-week blocks it moves fast.)

We will be closed Monday, Oct. 12th for Thanksgiving.

Today for lunch a Chicken Noodle Soup because it sounds damp out there 🌧️

Happy Thursday everyone.

A few reminders …
👉🏻 we will be closing at 2pm today to prepare for tonight’s dinner 🍽️
👉🏻 Salisbury Steak, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy with Side Veg and Pumpkin Pie will be served for those who have confirmed seatings at their preferred times starting at 5:30pm
👉🏻 our Dinners for October 27th and November 3rd are fully booked
👉🏻 we appreciate you more than you know 💕

Our next trivia night is Saturday, Oct. 17th, doors open at 6pm. We have 6 teams booked and room for one more! We’ll have our World Famous Roasted Poblano Pepper Cheese Sauce Nachos available for our players while they answer questions.

Yesterday was a 14 hour day for me and today will be another. Currently sucking back coffee with a heating pad on my knee and a Frenchton and Cat on my lap. (That auto-corrected to Frenchman 😆)

Happy Wednesday everyone.

Small delivery yesterday. Some travel mugs in a couple/few different styles and such great colours! Some Word Search, Crossword, Sudoku books - always a great time filler! And some silicone spatulas, stirrers, flippers, spoons in fun colours that I forgot to take a picture of 😥. More things will be trickling in over the next few weeks - some things will get put out on the shelves and some things will get tucked away (hopefully in places where I will remember 🤞 ) for our late night Shopping.

🚨 Reminding you that we will be closing at 2pm tomorrow so we can prep for our dinner tomorrow evening.

Happy Tuesday everyone.

Reminding you that we will be closing at 2pm on Thursday to prepare for our dinner that evening.

A restock yesterday of the Rebels Refinery Spray Antibacterial - these guys fly off the shelf. New scent Candy Apple 🍎 great for the season! So convenient to keep in your bag, your car, desk drawer. A couple of quick sprays and you’re covered.

Also thrilled to report that we have McBride hats (and toques) if I’d had my 💩 in a group, they would have been available a little earlier in the season, but that’s ok. Great for gifting or keeping and tooting your McBride Pride. 👏

I think I have the bits to make Veggie Beef Soup and maybe a Cheese Panini for lunch today 😋

Happy Monday everyone.

Back to it today, headcount is back up to 4 (from 2 on Saturday) so we should be able to run a full show!

🚨 Dinner updates

‼️ the dinner scheduled for Tuesday - October 6th is now Thursday - October 8th (due to the candidates forum) if you successfully booked the Salisbury Steak Dinner, please join us at your selected time on Thursday (instead of Tuesday)

‼️ we will be closing at 2pm on Thursday, Oct 8th in order to prepare for the dinner.

‼️ the dinners for Oct. 27th - Chimichurri Style Portuguese Chicken Meatballs and Nov. 3rd - Turkey Schnitzel are both FULLY BOOKED! Thank you so much for your support.

We have a couple of teams registered for our Nacho Average Trivia Night, Saturday, Oct. 17th 6-8:30. Nachos will be served for those in attendance, and fun will be had…darn it!

Happy Saturday everyone.

Reminding you that it’s Cake Day!

Cakes need to be dropped off by 10 am (Adult cakes to Welcome Home, kid’s cakes to Mountainview Boutique) after checking in with Gina. Voting for your favourite cake goes from 10-12 then the auction from 12-1pm. Vote for your favourite, then bid away. Kid’s cakes will not be auctioned. All proceeds from the auction go to the McBride Hospital Auxiliary. Such a great cause. Please ensure your ‘won’ cake is picked up by 2pm.

Thanks to the bakers, decorators, all the prize donors, Art at Main Street Pizza and especially Gina for the organizing, prizes and great ideas to have fun and include the community.

🚨 The shop will be open today, but the kitchen will be closed. We will have our usual drink menu available and perhaps some Italian Lemon Cookies, but no kitchen food. We are under staffed today, so we need to scale back. Appreciate your understanding.

Happy Friday everyone.

A couple of deliveries to chat about.

No. 7 Hot Sauce started 13 years ago in Toronto. It began with sharing a family recipe with a coffee shop and grew from there. All of their sauces are made without the use of preservatives. They are also vegan, sodium and sugar-free, gluten-free and peanut-free. If you’re a Hot Sauce Connoisseur give these a try.

As a heads up tomorrow is the Fall Cake Decorating Event! We will have the adult cakes on display. Come on down starting at 10am to vote for your favourites and then from Noon to 1pm come on down and bid for your favourites. If you are a lucky winner, please have your cake picked up by 2pm.

🚨 Tomorrow we are super-short-handed, so the Kitchen will be closed. We will have drinks available but no food. We will also be closing after the cake event. The best laid plans…..they say. Thanks for understanding.

Happy ch-ch-chilly 🥶 (first day of October) Thursday everyone!

Some deliveries from Tuesday - but we’ll talk about those tomorrow - or you could pop into the shop and take a walk about 😎 today.

🎂 This Saturday is the Fall Cake Decorating Contest and Auction.
Cakes must be dropped off Saturday by 10am - adult cakes to Welcome Home, kids cakes to Mountainview Boutique - make sure you register with Gina at the Boutique.
Voting begins at 10 and goes until noon. The auction begins at noon and goes until 1pm. (Kids’ cakes will not be auctioned). Claim your cakes by 2pm.
So much fun! So much cake! Many thanks to Gina for the great ideas, and to Mountainview Boutique and Main Street Pizza for the prizes and to ALL the makers and vendors who donated to the amazing prize packs.

🧑‍🍳 We have extended the deadline for recipes one-final-time this Saturday, Oct. 3rd. Please get your recipes to us by then so I can start putting this recipe masterpiece together. My hope is to have it printed for Christmas 🤞
