Did you know BC's oldest hotel is right here in the Township of Langley?
In honour of BC Day, here's a piece of living history right in our own backyard.
The Princess and the Pea Hotel is also the second oldest building in all of British Columbia, behind only the Storehouse at Fort Langley. And with Hudson's Bay Company closing its doors last year, it now holds the title of the oldest operating business in the Township.
In this clip from Legends of Langley, Wally Martin welcomes host and mayoral candidate Jay Lundgren inside the Princess and the Pea Hotel and shares the remarkable story behind this local landmark.
Originally established during the Gold Rush era, the hotel has welcomed travellers for generations and was carefully restored to preserve its history for years to come.
It's a fascinating look at one of Langley's most treasured heritage buildings and the people committed to keeping its story alive.
