Growing up there was always this place at the Farmer’s Market that would make these amazing giant cups of lemonade with loads of fresh berries in it.

This Strawberry Lemon Tart is my homage to those special memories, sharing a drink with friends or family on a hot summer morning. It’s reminiscent of a key lime pie, but without the search for that ever elusive little bag of fruits 😂 and I think it showcases some of the best of the season.

I hope that you and your family enjoy this little slice of summer.

We’ve still got so many workers coming in and out of the house wrapping projects up, so it’s been a challenge to use the kitchen (we still don’t have our fridge after two months of waiting now 😂). But it was my husband’s birthday yesterday and I was determined to make a dessert like I always do. So in between the working, and the water being turned off for hours I managed to pull this together! It’s a Salted Caramel Carrot Cake with a Cinnamon Pineapple Soak and Cream Cheese Frosting 😊💜🎉. I’m hoping to get back to sharing recipes from a fully functional kitchen soon! 😂

I know what you’re probably thinking… pineapple upside down cake? It’s such an old fashioned recipe, who even makes it anymore?!

And i’ll level with you. I make it once a year, and even then it’s for a friend’s birthday. But every time I DO make it I am reminded of how delicious it really is. And how much of a special kind of nostalgia it brings to you when you eat it.

One of the best things about pineapple upside down cake in general is that it’s not too sweet. It has beautiful caramelized pineapple flavour without being overwhelming, and that touch of bright sweetness from the maraschino cherry in the middle. It would make such a pretty addition to your table at Easter, or anytime really!

There’s just something about the little pops of colour and crunch in these cookies that screams “Springtime” to me. It might be that the sun is shining and the birds are chirping while I write this, but it definitely feels like Spring has (finally) sprung around here!

These cookies are chewy and buttery with just that little bit of tang and they bake up big and so pretty! The happy accident of my not having enough of one kind of sprinkles to make them results in a delicious textural difference that somehow makes a great cookie even better.

I think these would look perfect in a sweet little box or basket for Easter. Pair them with some Peeps and a cute pastel ribbon and you’re pretty much good to go!

Let me know if you try these out! :)

It is my hope that sharing Spring/Easter themed desserts will make winter finally go away! 😂

Every time we go to one of our favourite little local grocery stores I am reminded of how many edible cookie dough businesses we have in the area. They’re all great, but a little bit pricey, and so I always like having my own recipe on hand. Don’t get me wrong, I still absolutely buy a scoop of theirs, but it is nice to be able to add your own mix-ins and flavours at home. And Cadbury chocolate is one of my all-time favourite things, so there is that too!

I hope you'll enjoy the bright pops of colour in this tasty recipe, and join me in hoping for Spring. 😉

I wanted to share this easy recipe just in case you’re a “last minute shopper” or you’ve just realized that Valentine’s Day is tomorrow. It happens to the best of us!

Lucky for you, these are just about the easiest recipe ever, so you still have plenty of time to whip them up. Bonus points for the fact that you’ll have made your gift yourself. ;) With just three (yes you read that right, three!) ingredients, some freezer time and a little bit of elbow grease you’ll have some sweets for your sweetie.

Wishing you and whomever you’re quarantining with a Happy Valentine’s Day!

I’ll be honest, I have a bit of a bone to pick with 'Pink Velvet.'

Red velvet has cocoa powder, although not a ton, and pink is really Vanilla Buttermilk Cake with a bit of red food colouring. So, if I were to name these honestly I’d call them just that. But… “Pink Velvet” just sounds so much better! ;)

Whatever side of this great debate (haha) you find yourself on, Valentine’s Day is coming up soon and these are the perfect special treat to whip up for your family, someone special or yourself- because you’re definitely someone special. This recipe makes a nice tender little pink cupcake that pairs perfectly with the tangy and sweet cream cheese frosting. It’s a match made in heaven, you might say.

Whether you agree with the “velvet” name or not I’m sure you’ll agree that these Pink Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting are delicious.

I’ve been wanting to make mini pies for the looooongest time but I always seem to find myself baking other things instead. That is until a few weeks ago, when I started thinking about them again. In particular, how perfect a Valentine’s Day treat they would be, especially if they were made with beautiful tart cherries and the tiniest heart shaped cutter! I really gave myself no other choice than to get baking.

If you’re not in the mood to go all out making pie dough (it's SO SIMPLE I promise!) you can use a pre-made crust but they are so buttery-and-flaky-good when you go the extra mile.

I hope you’ll make some of these for the people you love the most this Valentine’s Day! :)

I’ll admit, there was a part of me that was thinking maybe it was too soon after the holidays to bake cookies. But then I remembered that I sent more cookies out of the house than I ate, so I figured it was safe. And frankly, it’s a New Year, so the Cookie Counter has been reset. Oh the thoughts I have to legitimize baking more treats…

When thinking about what to bake, I knew I wanted something different than all the cookies I was churning out for holiday orders and to share with family and friends. My mind wandered back to the Browned Butter Skor Chocolate Chunk Cookies I made early last year and I began to wonder if instead of reinventing the wheel I could make a variation of the base dough that we love so much around here.

I ended up removing the Skor bars completely (I know…I know) and replacing some of the chopped dark chocolate with milk and white chocolate. I’m happy to tell you that I am super pleased with the results! If you’re a chocolate lover, you will love the absolute explosion of chocolaty-ness in each an every bite. Behold - my Browned Butter Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookies!

My daughter and I make these super soft Whipped Shortbread Cookies for my Grandfather every year. This year I decided to try to give them a gluten-free spin just to see if you could taste any kind of difference and I am happy to report they are just as good this way!

These are pretty much the easiest cookies you could hope to make. Honestly, you probably already have everything you need in your pantry. They are great to make with kids (who from my own personal experience LOVE to be in control of the hand mixer haha) and are really an almost no-fail recipe. You just have to make sure that your butter is super light and fluffy!

They taste amazing and completely melt in your mouth. They’re awesome with hot cocoa, or coffee in the morning. You can keep them simple, add a chocolate drizzle or even some sprinkles or sanding sugar if you’re feeling fancy.

There’s not much more to say about these other than that you should make them! Oh… I guess that I should mention if you’re not gluten-free you can definitely switch to regular all-purpose flour in this recipe no problem.

I’m not a shortbread fanatic myself but even I can’t turn these buttery bites down. ;)

I recently found an icecream recipe inspired by a European tradition of drinking lemon beer with spicy gingerbread cookies and I was totally inspired! ⁣

When I started my holiday baking I thought why not try to take my traditional gingerbread recipe and add some lemon zest, just to see what would happen?⁣

The result was even better than I thought it would be. The flavours meld perfectly and the lemon takes the gingerbread to a whole new level. It’s my New Favourite Gingerbread Cookie recipe for a reason. 😉⁣

I hope this recipe will become a new favourite for you too! 🎄❤️🎅🏼 ⁣
