Connection.
This week, the people behind Edmonton River Valley came through our doors as part of an initiative they’ve started to support downtown Edmonton restaurants.
And this round, they chose us.
They came in to hear our story. They bought lunch.
They bought a whole bunch of gift cards.
We shared stories, laughed, talked about business,
downtown, life and everything in between.
But more than anything, we connected.
And maybe that’s what supporting
small business really comes down to.
Because small businesses aren’t just transactions.
They’re people.
They’re families.
They’re employees trying to make a living.
They’re stories, risks, long days, second chances
and a whole lot of hope tied up in four walls.
When restaurants close, we lose more than
another place to eat. We lose gathering places.
Familiar faces. Pieces of a neighbourhood.
The beautiful people behind The River Valley, Dogpatch and Little Brick are putting that belief into action.
They’re not just talking about supporting downtown.
They’re showing up for it.
We are incredibly grateful that this time,
they chose to shine some of that light
on our little deli.
We started the day as strangers.
We ended it feeling like we’d known
each other a whole lot longer.
That’s connection.
And we think downtown Edmonton
could use a whole lot more of it.
Thank you for showing up for small business.
Thank you for showing up for downtown.
And thank you for choosing Patricia Street Deli.
We won’t forget it. ♥️
