“What happened to 3 Guys and a Stove?”- A Q&A with Tara
We’ve received many messages, comments, and questions about the change, and we love that you all care enough to ask. Let us catch you up!
Is 3 Guys and a Stove still open?
No. Yes. Kinda 🙃. Same location, same great staff, but a new restaurant, menu, and vibe. Now called The Stove.
What happened to Jeff?
Jeff, the chef extraordinaire behind the restaurant’s concept since 1996, poured his heart, creativity, and decades of culinary passion into building 3 Guys into the beloved local institution it became. After all those years of showing up for this community, he decided it was time for a well-deserved retirement to spend more time with his family. Last summer, in 2025, he sold the restaurant to a group of local restaurateurs: us.
Who bought it?
Dave, a fellow Huntsville restaurant owner who’s led restaurants around the world for more than 40 years; my husband Andy, also a long-time business owner; and me, Tara. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry since 1996 too.
Are you actually local?
Yes. Dave has been in Huntsville for years, Andy and I have lived here permanently since 2021, and I first called Huntsville home in the early 2000s, working at Deerhurst and learning from some of the best food and beverage people in Muskoka.
Who’s leading the kitchen now?
Emmett, our executive chef, was born and raised right here in Muskoka. His roots in this community run just as deep and that local pride comes through in everything he creates in the kitchen.
Did you change things right away?
No. We were honoured that Jeff trusted us with the beloved 3 Guys, and we ran it just as he had through the summer, fall, and winter of 2025.
So why the rebrand?
As the slow season set in, we dove into some exciting renovations, bringing on local contractor to help us plan. As the renovation grew, it became clear the space was evolving in a great way, so we made the call to rebrand, and give Huntsville something new.
What’s next?
We’re so excited to continue the next chapter of this restaurant. We’ll always be grateful to Jeff for entrusting us with his legacy, and we can’t wait to welcome you!
