Are you an emerging artist that’s inspired by wildlife here in Southern Ontario? We want to feature your analog art this fall at our Second Scoop location.

Details:
1. Seeking artwork of all kinds of wildlife (animals, plants, fungi, & others), with preference given to
pieces depicting local species.
2. Pieces may be for sale with 100% going to the artist.
3. Call is open to emerging artists working in analog media.

Come by Mulberry street Monday night (August 31st) for our ‘Neighbourhood Stories’ group show closing party! From 7-9:30pm meet artists, listen to live music and cherish a final viewing 🖤

This summer, our shop featured over a dozen artists from different backgrounds and mediums together to reflect on personal identities, Hamilton history, and family/chosen family. Curated by multimedia artist and store manager Darya Zabihi.

We are grateful to be a part of a thriving art scene and love promoting local artists, art crawls and music performances. It’s bittersweet to see our show coming to an end, though we are excited to watch these artists continue on their creative journeys. Many of them are emerging, showing for the first time and are ready to continue telling their stories in ways that we can’t quite explain. The warmth of an artwork washing over you, connecting to a memory you didn’t realize you felt nostalgic for until you’re standing in a small shop (cone in hand of course), staring at the walls, waiting for your friends to finish ordering.

We’re excited to be partnering with utamami restaurant to provide them with ice cream for their desserts - Japanese Black Forest (pictured), Miso and rotating sorbets.

We’re extra excited because we had a chance to eat there this past weekend and everything was absolutely delicious. Do not pass on the Zucchini Tempura. I’m still dreaming about it.

They’re currently doing a soft opening with grand opening on Saturday Aug 1st so go check them out!!
