Whatup In The Hammer

Whatup In The Hammer Hamilton Music Scene Whatup In The Hammer website was started because of my love of live music and local talent. Hope to see you out and about.

I wanted a place where others with the same passion as mine can easily find an artist, venue or genre online. I wanted an all inclusive site where the user could look up a favorite band or musician and discover more about them, where they started, what they have done their influences, etc. Where and when you can go to see a band or musician that you have an interest in perform live. A way that any

one coming to this site can find out about an up and coming show or event. If you are new to Hamilton or just visiting and are not familiar with what our city has to offer but love music I want you to feel you have come to the right place. If you are interested in a certain genre be it rock, country or blues, etc. you can find when and where the live performances are on the day/night you are interested in. Hamilton has a lot to offer and the “Hamilton’s Music Scene” is second to none. So come out and enjoy great music, great people and have a great time.

Toronto’s Luminato Festival will host a full day of Indigenous-led programming on June 6, 2026, with The Power of the Land, a large-scale collaboration featuring live performances, cultural teachings, visual art, and an award-winning feature film at Harbourfront Centre.

The free public event will bring together First Nations, Métis, and Inuit artists from across Canada alongside the internationally recognized ensemble Sultans of String and its Walking Through The Fire project. The initiative was created in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s 94 Calls to Action and combines music, storytelling, film, and educational programming.

Curated by Elder and poet Dr. Duke Redbird, and Sultans of String bandleader Chris McKhool, the event reflects a growing movement within Canada’s arts sector to centre Indigenous voices and collaboration in major public programming.
