A little piece of Mom is officially on the menu ❤️

Growing up, I was always in the kitchen with my mom. She taught me how to cook, bake & make things from scratch, just like she was taught growing up. One of the most important things she passed down to me was the value of family recipes & keeping those traditions alive from one generation to the next🫶🏻

This recipe is one we made together countless times, & because my mom means everything to me, bringing pieces of my family & our traditions into Jessica's Sweets has always been incredibly important to me.

There's always going to be a new trend, a new flavour or the next “big thing,” but I'll always believe there's something special about originality - creating things that are personal & meaningful. Trends come & go, but the things rooted in tradition & made with heart have a way of lasting👌🏻

So I'm bringing one of my favourite family recipes to Jessica's Sweets: a chocolate cake with chocolate fudge pecan frosting, available as a Bundt cake or cake bars. It's perfect for just about any occasion & without a doubt, my favourite cake.

And if you know me, you know I don't even like cake😂

But this one? This one is different.

It's a little piece of my childhood, a little piece of my mom, & now a little piece of Jessica's Sweets❤️

My toxic trait? Supporting small businesses 😂💗

And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.
I couldn't possibly fit every small business my family & I have supported over the years onto these slides. From grabbing a coffee, booking an appointment, buying gifts, trying something new, or simply choosing local when we can - supporting small businesses has always been something that matters to us.

I come from an entrepreneurial family, so I know just how much goes on behind the scenes of a small business. The long hours, the big dreams, the “holy s**t, people are actually buying my stuff” moments, & everything in between.

So yeah, I’ll happily call it my toxic trait 😂
Because every time you choose a small business, you're supporting a real person, their family, their dream, & something they've built from the ground up.

And as your local sweets dealer, you already know I’m always going to be a little biased toward the small business community💗🍰
