Papel picado is NOT just Mexican party decoration. 🇲🇽
It is a traditional Mexican craft with deep cultural meaning, and an important part of Día de Mu***os.
Each delicate sheet is carefully cut by hand to create designs of calaveras, flowers, candles, and other symbols connected to the celebration. The colourful papel picado is often used to decorate ofrendas and create beautiful garlands that honour and remember those who have passed.
For us, sharing these traditions is about more than decoration. It is about remembering, celebrating, and keeping cultural knowledge alive across generations. 🧡
And that’s what Corazón y Raíz is all about.
Join us for our Día de Mu***os Market and experience Mexican culture through art, food, crafts, community, and tradition.
