It's a beautiful Wednesday evening on Gabriola, and if you're looking for a reason to treat yourself, maybe tonight is the perfect excuse.

Perhaps it's a handcrafted cocktail and a few appetizers on the patio while the sun lingers a little longer. Maybe it's a relaxed dinner with someone special, a chance to surprise a loved one with an evening out, or simply some quality time together without worrying about what's for dinner.

Saturday sunshine, patio season, and a little Woodfire pampering sounds like a pretty good combination.

If you fancy a cocktail and dessert, a few appetizers on the patio, or a full dinner while the sun is still shining, now’s the time. The patio is looking lovely, dogs are more than welcome, and we'd love to look after you tonight.

Tonight’s salad special is fresh spinach with red peppers, red onion, cucumber, crispy prosciutto and pecans, finished with a lemon dijon dressing.

Pizza special tonight: tomato sauce, mozzarella, chicken, red onion, green peppers, pineapple and a barbecue drizzle.

The photo below is our Pan-Seared Sablefish, served with citrus beurre blanc, herb oil, a crispy arancini ball, and wood-fired vegetables. It proved to be one of our most popular specials this spring, so we've added it to our summer menu. The rich sablefish, bright citrus notes, and crispy arancini make it a winning combination that's quickly becoming a guest favourite.

The sunshine is finally making itself at home, and there’s something pretty special about seeing Gabriola come alive again for the summer.

Whether it’s a table on the patio with your dog curled up beside you, a cocktail shared with friends, a quiet dinner in our comfortable dining room, or simply dessert and coffee when we open at 4:00, we’d love to be part of your evening.

This time of year is always exciting for us. We’re welcoming and training new team members, preparing for the busy months ahead, and working hard to make sure every guest has a great experience. There’s a lot of energy behind the scenes, and seeing familiar faces and new ones walk through the door reminds us why we love what we do.

If you’re looking for something delicious, our new veggie burger has been getting great reviews, the Seafood Fettuccine is packed with mussels, clams, prawns, scallops, grape tomatoes, and spinach in a white wine garlic cream sauce, and our pan-seared sablefish with citrus beurre blanc, arancini, and wood-fired vegetables continues to be a guest favourite. The prawn and crab cakes are back, and summer always feels complete when there’s a bowl of mussels and clams on the table.

In a world that seems to move a little faster every year, we're always grateful for the people who choose to slow down for an hour or two, gather around a table, and enjoy good food, good conversation, and a summer evening on Gabriola.

Not every patio night has to come with sunshine.

The patio will be open tonight, and while the weather may be a little more West Coast than tropical, it's still a great evening to get out of the house, enjoy a meal, share a bottle of wine, or simply catch up with friends.

We're big dog lovers at Woodfire, so four-legged guests are always welcome on the patio. If your pup enjoys a dinner outing as much as you do, bring them along and we'll happily find them a spot under the table.

Not feeling a full dinner? Stop by for cocktails and appetizers, dessert and coffee, or pick up a pizza to enjoy at home. However you choose to spend your evening, we'd love to see you.

What does your perfect Saturday evening look like?

Maybe it's cocktails and appetizers on the patio in the sunshine. Maybe it's a leisurely dinner outdoors with family and friends. Or perhaps it's settling into our comfortable dining room, enjoying great food, good company, and letting someone else take care of dinner for a change.

Either way, tonight is a beautiful night to enjoy Woodfire.

Our patio is fully set up and ready for another gorgeous evening of al fresco dining, while inside you'll find a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere perfect for lingering over a glass of wine, sharing dessert, or enjoying a leisurely dinner.

Tonight's features include our Creamy Cajun Parmesan Chicken Fettuccine, which was one of the most popular dishes of the night yesterday and is back again by popular demand.

We're also serving pan-seared sablefish atop creamy citrus risotto with asparagus, herb oil, and balsamic reduction.

For steak lovers, our Flame-Grilled Sirloin Steak is proving to be a favourite. We start with a 6oz AAA Canadian sirloin, season it with our Woodfire Coffee Chili Cocoa Rub, then finish it with smoky bacon butter. Served alongside hand-cut skinny fries, grilled vine-ripened tomato, and sautéed button mushrooms. Feeling a little indulgent? Add prawns and turn it into a surf and turf.

And if you've got a sweet tooth, don't leave dessert too late.

Our New York-style baked vanilla cheesecake with strawberry compote, citrus cheesecake with berry compote, and chocolate espresso mousse cake with berry compote are all on special for just $8 each tonight. They were popular last night and quantities are limited, so get in early before we sell out. Of course, our regular dessert menu is also available.

Usually on a Wednesday we focus on telling you about our specials, new cocktails, or what’s coming out of the oven.

But this week we thought we'd focus on telling you why we love what we do.

Woodfire has never just been about pizzas, cocktails or busy summer nights. It’s about people who genuinely love creating experiences for others.

It’s the cooks who stay focused through a packed service because they care about every plate leaving the kitchen.

It’s the front of house team remembering your favourite table, noticing when you need another glass of wine before you ask, or making sure your anniversary dinner feels special.

It’s the dish team working late so tomorrow runs smoothly again.

Every person here plays a part in something much bigger than food.

We do this because we love hospitality.
We love taking care of people.
