We've received a lot of questions recently regarding The Front Yard's future, so we wanted to provide a quick update.
Despite some rumours circulating online, we are not moving and we are not shutting down.
Our original operating approval is approaching its expiry date and we have submitted an application through the City's planning process seeking approval to continue operating for another year.
Over the past three years, we've invested in additional washroom facilities, increased security, site maintenance, and ongoing improvements based on customer and community feedback.
We've also worked hard to create an affordable and accessible venue for students, young professionals, and the broader community while helping contribute to a vibrant downtown nightlife scene. Along the way, we've created opportunities for local DJs, performers, photographers and workers while supporting neighbouring businesses and local suppliers throughout the downtown core.
Our application is scheduled to be reviewed by the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) on June 17, 2026.
