The Lunar Rogue Pub

The Lunar Rogue Pub A Maritime Pub, an old tradition done right! The Lunar Rogue Pub was named after New Brunswick's most celebrated rogue Henry Moore Smith (circa 1815, aka.
(922)

Henry Moon). It opened its doors at 625 King Street in downtown Fredericton at 4:00pm on May 11, 1989. The Lunar Rogue Pub was designed by Donna Webber in the Loyalist/Colonial style unique to the Lower Saint John River Valley and as depicted at New Brunswick's famous King's Landing Historic Settlement for which David Webber was the original designer. Since 1989, "the Rogue" has become the standar

d that others try to reach. It is most noted for the quality of its staff and the outstanding service they provide. That's coupled with its variety of products on tap, high quality wines by the glass and the availability of cocktail favourites, to over 200 Single Malts and Premium Blends, all backed with the quality of food and atmosphere you'd expect "down east". It truly provides "quality without pretence" and lives up to its description as "...a Maritime pub, an old tradition done right". Over the years, the people of Fredericton have made The Lunar Rogue Pub their "local pub", and bring visiting family, friends and associates to "the Rogue" with pride. It is where friends meet each day. Indeed, many of the decorative mugs which hang behind the Pub's bar actually belong to patrons who leave one of their favourite personal mugs there for their own use, much in keeping with the old tradition among British sailors in their home ports. To Frederictonians, the coming of spring is marked each year by the day that the Lunar Rogue Pub's outdoor patio is put in place. Locally owned, the Staff and Management understand that The Lunar Rogue Pub is "an original...one of a kind", unique to Fredericton and an important part of the City. We take our responsibility to the people of Fredericton very seriously ...every day.

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for our Bubbles Tasting with the wonderful Vanessa from Arterra Wines!

We sipped, we laughed, and we definitely found a few new favorite ways to celebrate.

While every pour was a star, Palmer Champagne officially stole the show (and our hearts) as the undisputed crowd favorite of the day!🍾💛

Huge thanks to Vanessa for sharing her wonderful wine wisdom and keeping our glasses full.

Until our next toast, keep the bubbles flowing! ✨🎉

🥃 RARE & REMARKABLE WHISKY TASTING 🥃

Mark your calendars for August 29th! Join us for an exclusive tasting hosted by Alex Hendry of Drinks Distilled as we uncork some of the most extraordinary expressions in the world of drams.

✨ SPOTLIGHT DRAM:
Caol Ila17 Year Old (Unpeated) ✨

Known for its classic maritime peat, this rare bottle flips the script. Caol Ila only distills unpeated malt during a brief, specialized run each year—making expressions like this 17-year-old a true collector's unicorn.

Did you know?
Because the same copper stills are used, you still catch a subtle "ghost" of coastal minerality and soft brine on the palate, even though no peated barley was used!

📝 Tasting Notes:
• Nose: Bright lemon curd, honeycomb, green orchard fruit, and crisp sea air.
• Palate: Rich, velvety, and mouth-coating with notes of vanilla, toasted ginger, and gentle herbal spice.
• Finish: Long, warming, and refined with lingering polished oak and citrus zest.

Seats for this lineup are strictly limited. Don’t miss your chance to taste this rare gem alongside several other remarkable pours!

📅 Date: Saturday, August 29th

🥃 25 Years in the Making... Are You Ready?

Take a look at this beauty: Glenfarclas 25 Year Old Highland Single Malt.

A quarter of a century spent resting silently in oak, and it’s about to make an appearance at our upcoming tasting!

Before we pop the bottle, here are 3 quick facts you might not know about this legendary dram:

Family First: Glenfarclas is one of Scotland’s few remaining truly family-owned, independent distilleries (run by the Grant family since 1865!).

Old School Heat: While most modern distilleries use steam coils to heat their stills, Glenfarclas sticks to traditional direct gas fire, giving their spirit its signature rich, robust character.

Sherry Magic: This 25-year expression is matured 100% in Oloroso sherry casks, packing notes of rich dark chocolate, marmalade, nutmeg, and a long, warming finish.
