The Rusty Pitchfork final message…🎄
With everything cleared away, we all sit in quiet reflection.
The reality has finally sunk in that The Rusty Pitchfork has pulled its last cup of amazing coffee, has served its last customer and has made our last batch of delicious treats. It’s been a week of lasts…sadly we were all so busy with our individual tasks…we didn’t quite realize each as they came 🥺.
We, as a collective, thank you. We thank you for your friendship, your kind words, your ailments that needed healing and most of all, your trust. You have enriched our lives over the past 7 years and it’s been a fabulous rollercoaster ride!
Our world is currently upside down and small businesses everywhere are and will be hurting across our beautiful Nation for a long time. What we want to put forward for thought is this:
Stop by your local stores. Small purchases make a HUGE difference. While we may not have a lot to spend…if everyone spent a little, more businesses would survive.
Our communities will continue to shrink if we don’t stop staying home and ordering online. We need to ‘see’ each other and financially support one another. Big box stores shouldn’t gobble back all the profits…because it only helps a few. And those ‘few’ really don’t need it. They are already wealthy. But what you can do helps:
💗 a single parent feed their small family
💙 provide an income so a person doesn’t need to be on social assistance
💗 create extra funds for a parent to send their child to music lessons, swimming lessons or create a memory of some kind
💙 provide a job for those that are looking to improve their skill set in a space where opportunities are few for those without a certificate, diploma or degree. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. 🙏
I for one feel blessed. We were able to shut down our business with dignity and grace. Thank you to everyone that dropped in for that last cinnamon bun or that favourite product.
And lastly, thank you to our amazing Team. What we accomplished over the past two years really was amazing. While a little bumpy in the beginning, we pulled it together and created a beautiful store that we should all be so proud of. Because I know, I’m sure proud of each of you.
You have taught me many things and for that I’m so thankful. I look forward to cheering you on from the sidelines with whatever your next adventure is.
Many hugs,
Kim, Gary & Garrison
