🗺️ The Wayfarer's Trail

The road leads us back to Northside Motorsports this week, and we're looking forward to seeing some familiar faces once again.

It's a shorter week on the trail for us as we celebrate a few important family milestones — my daughter's Grade 6 graduation, the last week of school, and all the busyness that comes with this season of life.

Because of that, we'll be open for three days only:

📍 Northside Motorsports

☕ Friday | 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM ☕ Saturday | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM ☕ Sunday | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

(Though a good crowd may convince this weary traveler to linger a little longer. 😉)

🥖 Fresh heritage wheat sourdough loaves will be available Friday only.

As always, I don't carry bread over from day to day. Every loaf is baked fresh, and once they're gone, they're gone until the next bake.

We're hoping for clearer skies, warmer weather, and a busy little café this weekend. If you missed us last week, we'd love to catch up and share a coffee, a loaf of bread, or a cold drink with you.

The kettle will be on, the provisions will be packed, and the road will be waiting.

🌿 This Father's Day Weekend, our travels take us back to Mar-Wes Greenhouses! 🌿

Join us Friday through Sunday from 9 AM – 3 PM, rain or shine.

Step inside our little café, take a load off, and rest awhile. We'll have handcrafted drinks, fresh baked goods, and limited sourdough loaves available Friday, made with organic heritage wheat flour and a slow sourdough fermentation process.

We'll also have sourdough bagels, focaccia, muffins, brownies, and a few other treats along the way.

Everything is made with care, using simple ingredients and a slower approach. Hot or cold, there's something for every traveler.

We'd love to see you this weekend. 🤎

"Why aren't you open more?"

It's probably one of the questions I get asked most often.

The answer is simple: because what you see at The Wayfarer is only a small part of the work.

Long before the first coffee is poured, there's a lot happening behind the scenes.

Recipes are dreamed up, tested, and refined.

Cold brew is steeped.

Syrups are made.

Fruit purees are crafted from real fruit.

Sourdough is mixed, folded, fermented, shaped, and baked.

Every loaf takes more than 24 hours from start to finish.

Every muffin, brownie, focaccia, cookie, and bagel is made by hand using heritage wheat flour from Better Basics Milling in Saskatchewan.

Drinks are made to order.

Lemons are squeezed.

Cold foam is whipped fresh.

Nothing comes from a powder. Nothing comes from a bag. Nothing is assembled from a box.

Could we be open more often if we took shortcuts?

Probably.

But that's never been the vision.

The Wayfarer and Hearthstone were built on the belief that some things are worth doing slowly.

We believe in quality over convenience.

Craft over shortcuts.

Community over transactions.

So while the café may only be open a few days each week, the work never really stops.

And honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way.

🌿 The Road Leads Back to Mar-Wes Greenhouses 🌿

This week's travels take us back to Mar-Wes Greenhouses for Father's Day Weekend!

We'll be set up:

📍 Mar-Wes Greenhouses
🕘 Friday, Saturday & Sunday
⏰ 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

This will be our final weekend at the greenhouse for the season as they begin shifting toward vegetable sales and summer growing.

Come wander the greenhouse paths, pick out a new plant friend, and stop by the little Airstream for a handcrafted beverage or fresh-baked provision.

🥖 A limited number of fresh sourdough loaves will be available Friday morning.

Whether you're looking for a coffee, a cold drink, a loaf of bread, or simply a quiet moment among the flowers, we'd love to see you.
