Join us next Friday (April 17) to see Bloementuin!

A quiet fire pops gently between the trees. Soft gentle words sung quietly to an unseen audience with an airy but deeper harmony resonating. Remco and Ella Dalmaijer have an eclectic collection of roots, pop, and folk covers focussed on pleasing audiences. Old and new classics come alive with new harmonies and rhythmic, captivating guitar work.

Born out of a Hospital room, a car, a living room, and a life together, Bloementuin (“Bloom-en-ton”) is a father daughter duo from Edmonton Alberta. Fifteen year old playlists, and old roots covers come alive around a single mic. Harmonies pop and spark, and lull and comfort while dependable guitarwork glitters in the backdrop. In the process of teeth cutting at open stages and house concerts, Bloementuin is excited to get in front of great roots and folk fans.

themightyandthegentle (Remco Dalmaijer) has been a musician and songwriter in the Edmonton area for most portions of his life. However, while living abroad in South Korea in the early 2003, he released his original EP “The Albumen” and was a founding member, banjo-playing co-lead vocalist of his bluegrass band Kettle Mountain Social. A few years after returning to Canada (2011), Dalmaijer returned to his Canadian rock roots with his and Joel Kleine’s east coast rock tinged outfit Bombproof the Horses. His Simon & Garfunkel tribute act called Simon Says Art with Ido VanderLaan was a well received project (2024) that created wonderful emotive moments for audiences. Bloementuin is the culmination of the voicing of music Remco has enjoyed throughout his life.

Ella Dalmaijer has been singing around her house since she was 3. Singing in choirs and in high school musicals has given her wonderful opportunities to sing in front of audiences.

Bernard is a regular at our coffee shop, but this time he's bringing his music with us! Get your tickets before they sell out!

Bernard Jentner writes songs about things that actually happened to him — a building full of criminals, a woman who followed her husband into death, a love that breaks a thousand times a day, and a remote control that doesn't control the TV anymore. He plays them like Radiohead if they wrote folk music. Edmonton-based. Available for house parties, barbecues, and your next corporate Christmas party.

Back to basics this month with a classic tuna melt sandwich feature. Melty cheese, delicious marble rye, and a tuna filling flavored just right 🙌🏻

We also have a house made ginger syrup for our feature drinks this month. It pairs PERFECTLY in our chai, and is also delicious in an espresso drink.
