It is with heavy hearts that we announce September 23rd as our last day. 🤍
A couple of years ago, we opened our doors on 124th Street with a simple hope: to create a space where Caribbean warmth could meet Edmonton community, one coffee at a time. What we found was so much more than we ever imagined. Paint nights that turned strangers into friends. Open mics that gave someone the courage to share their voice for the first time. Regulars who became family, and familiar faces who made every single shift feel like home.
The truth is, it's been a tough season for small businesses here in Edmonton, and we know we're not the only ones feeling it. This decision wasn't easy, and it doesn't come without grief. But we want to close this chapter the way we opened it: with gratitude, not sadness alone.
To everyone who stopped by for a coconut latte, stayed for the conversation, supported an artist, or sat down to study, thank you. You are the reason Island Brew ever felt like a community hub and not just a coffee shop. That was always the point, and you made it real.
