We can’t build a more inclusive entrepreneurship system without hearing directly from the people navigating it.

As part of Edmonton’s Inclusive Entrepreneurship Roundtables—graciously hosted by AKSIS and connected to ongoing research at MacEwan University in partnership with the City of Edmonton—we’re continuing to gather real experiences from equity-deserving entrepreneurs.

This work is about more than conversation. It’s about turning research into action and shaping systems that actually reflect what it takes to build a business across different communities.

We’re currently looking to connect with entrepreneurs who have experienced barriers in accessing:
• Space
• Funding
• Networks
• Business supports

Participants will take part in a short listening session (virtual or in-person), and a $50 gift card is offered in appreciation of your time.

This is part of a broader effort bringing together community organizations, government, and entrepreneurs to co-create solutions that work—grounded in lived experience.

If you’ve ever felt like traditional entrepreneurship systems weren’t designed with you in mind, your voice is important here.

Send us a message and we’ll connect you, or reach out directly to:

In Spain, a growing number of community plazas are coming alive with the warmth of shared meals, thanks to open-air kitchens designed for local gatherings. These outdoor cooking zones are equipped with modular stoves, prep counters, and shaded seating — turning once-empty spaces into hubs of connection and sustainability.

On cool evenings, neighbors come together to prepare food — sometimes from home gardens, local markets, or shared harvests. These kitchens aren’t about charity or formality. They’re social rituals, rooted in Spanish traditions of communal dining, where everyone chops, stirs, grills, and laughs side by side. It’s a way to reduce isolation, pass down recipes, and keep neighborhood ties strong.

Each kitchen station includes smart waste-sorting bins clearly marked for compost, recyclables, and non-reusables. After the meal, participants sort leftovers and scraps as part of the routine, reinforcing everyday environmental habits. Some plazas even include small herb walls or planter boxes, growing ingredients that go straight into the pan.

The program encourages intergenerational exchange, with elders teaching youth, and newcomers finding belonging through food. It also supports circular living — where the meal, the waste, and the community loop together.

From Madrid’s backstreets to small towns across Andalusia, these community kitchens are quietly rewriting what shared space means — turning plazas into places not just for passing through, but for cooking, eating, and growing together.

You read that correctly… a new beer release! We haven’t had too many new releases over the last few months, but that’s about to change…so hold onto your butts!

This brand-new release is a special community fundraising beer in support of The Connected Kitchen Project . If you haven’t heard of them, let us fill you in on this amazing organization that’s helping entrepreneurs and people in our community. TCKP is committed to connecting communities through food by promoting sustainable practices, reducing food waste, and enhancing food security.

Through partnerships with like-minded groups, they use closed-loop systems to ensure nothing goes to waste, while supporting initiatives that make a real difference. Their vision is a world where every food entrepreneur has the tools and resources to succeed, and where communities thrive on healthy, accessible, and sustainable food systems.

We’re excited to begin a partnership with them, which will see TCKP prepare and supply food for our outreach program “Time For Kindness” .yeg . Check them out, give them a follow, and show them some love!

We’ll also be donating $1 from every pint sold to TCKP—so come enjoy a delicious pint while supporting a great cause.

Oh, the beer—how could we forget about the beer…

You may think a hazy rye IPA might be dark, malty, or really boozy… well, think again! This hazy rye IPA has all the notes and flavor of a delicious hazy IPA: citrus, a little bit of pine, some sweetness, but the rye malt gives it a nice little bit of spiciness and smooths it all out just right.

We also used Red Shed Malting’s Whiskey Jack, a barley base malt, in this batch. The wonderful team at Red Shed will be matching a donation from a portion of the proceeds to support TCKP.

Available now on tap for 20oz, 10oz & growler fills!
