A simply magical evening ATRIUM at SABOR over the weekend celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Broadway’s RENT. Thank you Bridget D. Ryan for hosting a fireside chat with Tim Weil, RENT’s original musical director and author of Making RENT and to the incredible students Macewan Musical Theatre Student Group who performed songs from the production backed by Tim on the keyboard Rubim de Toledo on bass Steve Pady on guitar Greg Ferguson on drums. Shout out to our friends at Audreys Books The Citadel | Edmonton Theatre for hosting workshops and book signings with Tim during his visit to Edmonton.

CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF BROADWAY’S RENT

As many Edmontonians know, SABOR co-founder Christian Mena played Roger opposite Tony Award winner Neil Patrick Harris (Mark Cohen) in the 2nd National Tour of RENT and remains close to the RENT family to this day.

2026 marks 30 years since RENT first hit Broadway and to celebrate - Christian has invited original musical director and author Tim Weil to Edmonton for a student workshop with the cast of MacEwan University’s upcoming Fall production of RENT and a one-night-only wine dinner at ATRIUM.
