Wow, Edmonton! Thank you for these past few weeks as we celebrated our last month at Langano Skies Ethiopian Restaurant.

It was so incredible to serve as many people as we possibly could, and we appreciate everyone that attended our dine-in events or ordered takeout.

It was definitely bittersweet, but we all had such a great time - especially Chef Amsale as she cooked up delicious food for 4 fully-booked dine-in events!

We wanted to extend our gratitude to our amazing customers (including the kind people that left heartwarming cards & gifts), our loyal staff from over the years (some of whom offered to come back and help during our final month) - and of course Char, Thomas and Chris from Barb & Ernie’s.

We wouldn’t have had 21 years serving Edmonton’s best Ethiopian cuisine if it wasn’t for you all!

Paul & Amsale are now looking forward to enjoying some well-earned rest & relaxation, time with friends & family and new experiences travelling.

As we reflect on our journey as a restaurant, the entire Sumamo family is so thankful for the way this city embraced our culture and we promise to stay in touch and remain apart of this incredible community!

We had a great weekend kicking off our final dine-in events at Langano Skies, and it was so nice to see the amazing people who have supported us throughout this journey.

With our final weekend coming up, we wanted to share we are now 100% booked for our last events scheduled on Friday January 16th + Saturday January 17th.

For those interested in takeout, we will be offering takeout service on Thursday and a very limited of takeout orders on the weekend prior to our dine-in events.

Once again we wanted to thank everyone for their understanding & support as we prepare for our final week - we wouldn’t be here without you!

A huge thank you to everyone who made reservations this weekend for the first instalment of our final dine-in events, as Langano Skies prepares to close later this month.

We wanted to update we are now fully booked this weekend, but will be hosting our two final dine-in events on Friday January 16th + Saturday January 17th.

Reservations are required for our dine-in events. Please call 780-432-3334 to book your table!

On a side note, due to the high volume of patrons enjoying our dine-in events, takeout service will be limited and subject to availability. However, we will have regular takeout service on Thursday evenings!

In addition, we will not be offering delivery via Skip/Uber Eats during our dine-in events.

We are so excited to see everyone and appreciate your understanding + support as we navigate our last few weeks!

As 2025 comes to an end, we are truly blessed to have had 21 years sharing our Ethiopian cuisine with such an amazing city.
As we prepare to enter the new year, we wanted to share that Paul & Amsale have made the decision to close Langano Skies Ethiopian Restaurant.

Our last day out of Barb & Ernie’s will be Saturday January 17th.

We truly appreciate everyone’s understanding & support, whether it was during our humble beginnings on Whyte Avenue, or the past few years after we shifted operations - we couldn’t have done it without our amazing customers, staff & the great people at Barb & Ernie’s!

We understand this is a surprise to many - but we hope it will allow people an opportunity to reflect on great memories over the years, and to enjoy another meal with us in the coming weeks.

Paul & Amsale look forward to seeing everyone before we close and will still be apart of this amazing community as they enjoy retirement, focus on their health and spend time with their children, grandchildren & Daisy (their beloved dog).

Some of you may have seen our Instagram story over the weekend regarding a sewer line break that occurred in the building - which resulted in us being closed last Saturday.

Due to ongoing repairs, we are unfortunately remaining closed at this time - but hope to reopen next week!

Please stay tuned for further updates, as we are uncertain if this will impact the date of our December dine-in event.
