On Saturday, February 28th, 2026, we closed the doors to Fat Olive for the very last time.

This past week, and especially Saturday night, was filled with more emotion than we can even begin to describe. There were tears we couldn’t hold back, hugs that lasted a little longer, stories shared across tables, laughter through the sadness, and gratitude for having been able to share this together. The room was full in every sense of the word. Full of people. Full of love. Full of gratitude.

For eight years, Fat Olive was never just a restaurant. It was where birthdays were celebrated and anniversaries toasted to. It was first dates, family dinners, Friday night traditions, and familiar faces walking through the door. It was the comfort of knowing your meal would be delicious and the atmosphere would be warm. It was a place where everyone truly did know your name.

Dorchester, you showed up for us in ways we will never forget. The support this past week was overwhelming. The kind words, the memories, the packed dining room one last time. It meant everything to us.

To every staff member, past and present, thank you. You are the heart of Fat Olive. What it became was only possible because of you, and we are forever grateful. We truly built a Fat Olive family, and while Saturday night held many tearful goodbyes, we know they were really just “see you laters!”. The bonds and love built here will last a lifetime.

There truly are no perfect words for a goodbye like this. Just so much love and gratitude.

As we head into our final day, we just want to say thank you. The love and support you have shown us has been overwhelming in the most beautiful way. We truly feel it.

To our guests, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of the Fat Olive family for the past eight years. The photos, the memories, the stories you have been sharing with us have brought so many smiles and even a few tears. Seeing all of your familiar faces walk through our doors one final time has been incredibly bittersweet. Your patience, your kindness, and your understanding as we work to get everyone their favourite Fat Olive meal one last time has meant everything to us.

To our staff, you have given double the hours, double the work, and double the love this past week. You carried this place with so much heart. We could not have done this without you. We are so proud of you and so deeply grateful.

Dorchester, it has been the honour of a lifetime to serve this community. We have a few lunch spots open for dine in today and lots of chicken parmigianos ready to go. Come join us for one last hurrah and help us close this chapter surrounded by the people who made it so special.

After 8 unforgettable years, next Saturday the 28th will be our final day open.

What a journey it has been. Eight years filled with laughter, love, incredible food, beautiful memories, and friendships that will truly last a lifetime.

You carried us through it all, COVID, the hottest summers, the coldest winters, and every challenge in between. Your support over these eight years has meant more to us than we could ever properly put into words.

To our amazing guests, thank you. You have truly been family to us. Watching so many of you walk through our doors week after week, celebrating milestones, date nights, birthdays, and ordinary Tuesdays, it has been the greatest privilege.

To all of our staff, past and present, thank you. You poured your heart and soul into this restaurant every single day. Your passion, dedication, and smiles are what made this place so special, and we will forever be grateful.

As we head into our final week, we would love for you to share your favourite Fat Olive memories and photos with us. Seeing the moments you created here would mean the world to us.
