This past weekend marked the 11th Annual Smash Up for MS, organized by Gavin Butt and his incredible team.

Andrew and I still remembers the very first Smash Up for MS, when we were proud to donate all of the event trophies. We continued that tradition for many years until we sold the business.

Fast forward a few years, and we’re thrilled to be back supporting this amazing event—this time under a new brand 🍟 Wendy’s 🍔 with renewed energy for the West Coast.

We couldn’t be prouder of Gavin and his team for what they’ve built. Year after year, this event continues to grow, bringing the community together while raising awareness and support for such an important cause.

Thank you, Gavin, for welcoming us back as a sponsor. And we love we had a chance to give prizes to both Adult classes and the kids class!

We’re honoured to be part of it again, and we can’t wait to see everyone next year!

⚾️ What started as a sponsorship quickly grew into something much bigger.

Today, we were proud to present our sponsorship cheque as the Title Sponsor of Wendy’s Corner Brook Minor Baseball, but along the way we realized there were other opportunities to make an even bigger impact.

Some of the benches and dugouts were in need of a refresh, so we were excited to partner with Dennis Blackwoodof Blackwood Signs. Not only did Dennis help install new signage, but he also wanted to be part of bringing some new life back to the ballpark. He did a great job painting the old poles for the brand new scoreboard!

It’s partnerships like these that make our community stronger.

We were also happy to donate food for a fundraiser. Keeping all the ballplayers fed was a must, and it’s even better knowing the fundraiser helped raise money for our young players. We can’t wait to show off our new shinny Player of the Game belt and hand out some prizes.

One story I heard today really stuck with me. A girls’ baseball team thought it was pretty special that there will always be a female represented in the dugout and around the field. That’s what this is really about. It’s more than putting a logo on a fence, it’s about building a community where every child feels included, supported, and inspired.

We’re incredibly proud to be part of this journey and can’t wait to see the Barons take the field all summer long.

Today was a bittersweet day.

The West Coast community showed up in a big way to support Liam’s legacy, his family, and to help kick-start fundraising for the new rink improvements in Humber Arm South.

We held a Frosty Fundraiser on June 14 and, thanks to all of you, we sold an incredible 467 Frostys! 🍦

Andrew and I decided to round that up to 500 Frostys, bringing our total donation to $500 for the project.

To everyone who stopped by, purchased a Frosty, shared the fundraiser, or simply showed your support—thank you. Your generosity is what makes communities like ours so special.

This is only the beginning. We have some exciting plans in the works to continue raising funds for the Humber Arm South recreational community, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

We’re just getting started. ❤️
