A big thank you to Navigate Small Business and their host, Sam Silver, for the AI workshop at Hew & Draw Hotel. Sam taught us how to build our own volunteer sign-up page, and it was so helpful.

When you run a small business, extra hours are hard to come by. Because of what we learned, everything for the 100 Family Christmas Meal Project can now be gathered in one place, instead of scattered across messages and notes. It's going to make things so much easier for us, and for our volunteers too.

We'll be cooking, packaging and delivering free Christmas meals in Corner Brook, Pasadena and Humber Arm South, and we can't do it without you. I'll be sharing the sign-up link very soon, so keep an eye on our page 👇

This is the one Robert will tell you to start with 🍔

The Samuel is our flagship burger. A juicy smash patty, melted mozzarella, crispy onion straws, pickled banana peppers, shredded lettuce and his house-made signature sauce on a toasted bun.

That sauce is made right here in our kitchen, same as everything else. Robert has tweaked it over the years until it was just right, and honestly, we think it's what keeps people coming back.

It's $13.99 on its own, or $21.99 with fries and a drink. Swing by for lunch and you can watch it come off the grill in our open kitchen 😊

This cake has a two hour drive ahead of it 🚗

That's why I frosted the outside in our stable vanilla buttercream. Inside is soft vanilla sponge layered with fresh sliced strawberries and our cream cheese whipped cream frosting. The buttercream helps it hold up on the road, so it shows up looking just the way I boxed it. 🍓

Everything I bake is made from scratch with premium ingredients, and that takes time. That's why I'm taking a limited number of cake orders right now. It lets me give every cake the attention it deserves. 🎂

Every time I close a cake box, I think about the table it's heading to. A birthday, a family supper, a small celebration at home. That's my favourite part of this job.

Starting today, you can build your own fryer basket 🍟

Some days you want a little bit of everything. A couple of mozza sticks, some onion rings, a few chicken bites, maybe a cod nugget or two. So Rob and I put together a basket where you get to do the picking.

Here's how it works:

Small: pick 3 + 1 dipping sauce, $12.99
Medium: pick 5 + 1 dipping sauce, $19.99
Large: pick 8 + 2 dipping sauces, $29.99
Kids Mix & Match Meal: pick 2 + fries + juice box or water + 1 dipping sauce, $9.99

Choose from veg samosas, veg spring rolls, mozza sticks, onion rings, mac & cheese wedges, jalapeño cheddar bites, chicken bites and cod nuggets. Any combination you like, and yes, you can double up. Six of the eight choices are vegetarian, so there's something for everyone at the table.

Dip it all in one of our house-made sauces: garlic mayo, chipotle mayo, sweet Thai chili or BBQ.

Not house-made:
Ranch, sweet & sour and tartar sauce are there too.

It's a good one for sharing after work, a treat with the kids, or those nights when nobody can agree on what to eat.

October cake calendar is officially open 🎂

This one was such a joy to make. A three layer, 6 inch vanilla bean cake, filled with our signature cream cheese filling and frosted in our signature vanilla buttercream. Every rose is piped in buttercream, deep burgundy and soft ivory, finished with a little gold and pearl.

It serves 6 to 12 people, which makes it just right for a birthday at home, an anniversary dinner, or a small family get-together.

We're now taking custom cake orders for October 🍁 Since I'm the only baker here, I can only take on so many cakes each week, so spots are limited. If you have something coming up, I'd love to hear about it.

There's a reason the Philly Cheese-Steak is one of the first things so many of you order.

Rob builds every one right in our open kitchen. A quarter pound of juicy beef, sautéed onions and green peppers, melted mozzarella, and a good spread of our house-made garlic mayo. You can smell it from the counter, and honestly, that's half the fun.

Sundays are for family 🍁

We keep our weekends closed so we can spend them with our kids, and today we took them out to Robbins Family Farm. Hay bales, face paint, lollipops and big smiles all around.

Rob left the kitchen at home today. Well, mostly. His hat still says "Yes, Chef." 😄

Running a business together means a lot of long days side by side in the kitchen, so time like this fills us right back up. It's the reason we protect our weekends the way we do ❤️

If you're looking for something to do with the kids this afternoon, the farm is open until 3 PM today for their family event. Go say hi and tell them Cristina and Rob sent you.

When Christopher Baker from Ace Printing reached out to support the 100 Family Christmas Meal Project, we told him the thing we need most right now isn't more funding. It's helping families find us. Without missing a beat, Ace Printing offered to print our posters so they can go up on boards and in windows across the community.

The support from our neighbours has been beautiful. Thanks to you, meals are sponsored and the kitchen plans are coming together. Now we need to make sure every family who could use a warm Christmas dinner knows this is here for them. A poster in a grocery store, a laundromat, or a church hall might reach the family that doesn't scroll Facebook, and that matters so much.

Christopher, thank you for seeing where the need was and stepping right into it. Next time you need printing, we hope you'll think of the team at Ace Printing. 🙌
