Today marks a sad but also exciting next chapter for our business. We have absolutely loved being a small part of the Downtown Collingwood experience for locals and visitors alike since we first opened our doors back in November of 2021.
Despite our best efforts, we simply could not keep the storefront busy enough to continue operating it. When we opened back in 2021, we didn't have a post-COVID bingo card that included record global inflation, tariffs, wars and many other factors that made keeping the storefront financially unsustainable.
We had a blast and meeting our incredible customers in person over the past 5 years has been a wonderful highlight of owning Fruit Obsession. We will treasure those memories and moments for a very long time. As they say, all good things must come to an end and after 5 years, we’re saying goodbye to Hurontario Street.
Most importantly, our incredible chocolate treats, including our fruit bouquets, party platters and gourmet chocolate dipped fruit boxes (and much more!), are still available for online sales, including delivery and local pick-up options.
We'd like to highlight a few changes to keep the business sustainable while staying aligned with our original purpose: to be a business that celebrates life's special moments. We want to be a business you can rely on to excite, impress, and dazzle your friends, family and colleagues no matter the occasion! Here are the changes:
- We launched our new and improved website today. More visual layout, easier and more seamless checkout.
- Orders must be placed by 10pm the day prior. Occasionally, we may be able to accommodate last-minute same-day orders, but you will need to call or email to check availability vs. ordering online.
- Expanded daily delivery options to all of Simcoe County, The Blue Mountains, Brock Township and Kawartha Lakes. If you know anyone in our new areas (Brock, KW, Orillia or Barrie), please pass on the word about our store!
Last but not least, we are excited to announce a new partnership with Anthem Supplements located at 510 First Street in Collingwood. This will be our new order pick-up location for anyone preferring local pick-up vs. delivery. Anthem Supplements (www.anthemsupplements.ca) has a beautiful new space, including a deck and patio...most importantly, they have a delicious new smoothie bar! We strongly encourage our loyal smoothie drinkers to check out their location ASAP! You will not be disappointed. Beyond smoothies, the store has all of your supplement needs including, drinks, bars, powders, accessories and so much more.
Wrapping up, we’d be incredibly grateful for your ongoing support of our family-owned, local small business. Overall, we'd encourage you to support local businesses whenever you can; they truly need your consistent support to keep offering unique ideas and opportunities in the community.
Please visit us online 24/7 at our website (www.fruitobsession.com) or call us (705-444-8349) to place your next order! As always, we're available for custom orders, catering or questions via email at [email protected].
