What a day at the Harbour Fall Fest! It was a huge success for Island Pizza & Pretzel, and we’re heading home feeling pretty grateful.

A massive thank you to everyone who stopped by the Pizza Wagon for a pizza, a slice, an Island Twist, or even just a chat. The support was unreal, and we appreciate every single one of you who came by to see us. ❤️

A big shout-out as well to the organizers and volunteers who put the whole thing together. There’s a pile of work that goes on behind the scenes to make these events happen, and you folks did a fantastic job.

We’d also like to give a special thank you to Ally Gatehouse from Bonavista, who spent a few hours helping us out in the Pizza Wagon. She was a great help and we really appreciated having her with us during a busy day. Thanks, Ally! 😊

Bonavista treated us some good, and we had an absolute blast.

🍕🍂 Bonavista, we’re coming to see you this Saturday! 🍂🍕

We’re really looking forward to packing up the pizza wagon and heading to Bonavista for the Harbour Fall Fest at the Matthew Legacy.

There’s something pretty special about getting out on the road, setting up in a new community, and getting a chance to serve folks who may have been following along but haven’t had a chance to try Island Pizza yet. We’re hoping for a great fall afternoon, lots of familiar faces, and maybe a few new ones too. 😊

With the new oven working away, we’ll be bringing our 14” pizzas and slices along for the trip:

🍕 Newfoundlander Cheese — $32 whole / $8 slice
🍕 Puffin Island Pepperoni & Cheese — $32 whole / $8 slice
🫐 Wild Random Island Blueberry Feta — $36 whole / $9 slice
🍓 Fogo Funk Partridgeberry Brie — $36 whole / $9 slice

And of course, Jackie will be making a fresh batch of her made-from-scratch Island Twists:

🥨 Maple Sugar — $6

🍎🍕 What a weekend at AppleFest Port Blandford 2026! 🍕🍎

We’re back home on Random Island after another fantastic Applefest in Port Blandford — and wow, Applefest is always a blast! 2026 was certainly no exception.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by Island Pizza & Pretzel, grabbed a pizza or a slice, had a chat, and supported us throughout the weekend. ❤️

This was also our first real opportunity to put the new larger oven to work making 14” pizzas and selling them by the slice — and we couldn’t be happier with how it went!

The bigger pizzas and slices allowed us to get more Island Pizza into more hands, faster, and really helped cut down on some of the long waits we’ve experienced at busy festivals in the past. We learned a lot this weekend, and we’re pretty excited about what this opens up for future events. 🔥🍕

Most importantly, it was great seeing so many familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones.

Thank you Port Blandford, the Applefest organizers, volunteers, and everyone who came out and made Applefest 2026 such a great time.

🍎🍕 Next Stop: Applefest in Port Blandford! 🍕🍎

After taking a little time for some maintenance, restocking, and getting the pizza wagon ready to roll again, we’re hitting the road and heading to Port Blandford for Applefest!

And with our new, larger oven, we’re trying something new this weekend — PIZZA BY THE SLICE! 🙌

We’ll be making 14” pizzas, cut into 4 BIG slices:

🧀 Newfoundlander Cheese
🍕 Puffin Island Pepperoni & Cheese

$8 per slice

The pricing works out the same as our regular 10” pizzas, but now you’ve got the option to grab just a slice — and each slice is roughly equivalent to half of one of our 10” pizzas!

Of course, our berry pizzas aren’t going anywhere. 🫐🍓
We’ll still be serving our Wild Random Island Blueberry Feta and Fogo Funk Partridgeberry Brie as whole 10” pizzas.

📣 UPDATE – EASTPORT

Unfortunately, due to the Damnable Trail Festival being cancelled, Island Pizza & Pretzel will not be opening in Eastport today.

We were really looking forward to being there and serving everyone, but Mother Nature had other plans this time around. 🌧️🍕

A big thank-you to the festival organizers for keeping us updated, and to everyone who was planning to stop by and see us.

We’ll keep you posted on where the pizza wagon is headed next — hopefully we’ll get another chance to see our Eastport friends before too long! ❤️🍕

🏁🍕 BACK HOME ON RANDOM ISLAND AFTER RACEWARZ! 🍕🏁

We made it back home to Random Island, the pizza wagon is parked, and now that we’ve had a chance to catch our breath, there are a few people we really need to thank. ❤️

First, a huge thank you to the Burges — Jim, Marilyn, and Gia. They were absolutely instrumental in helping us pull this one off. From helping us get a trailer to Torbay and then back home to Random Island, to jumping in when our new pizza oven arrived in St. John’s at the very last minute and helping us get it picked up, installed, and ready to cook — they were there when we needed them. We honestly couldn’t have done it without them. 🍕🔥

A big shout-out as well to Alita, who invited us to be part of Racewarz NL in the first place. Thanks so much for thinking of Island Pizza & Pretzel and for having us along for such a fun event! 🏁

And we have to mention our fellow food truck operator Keith from Liquorsauce. Keith was incredibly welcoming, and offered us some great advice. That kind of support from another food truck owner means a lot.

And just as important… his food is fantastic! 😋 If you ever see Liquor Sauce set up somewhere, do yourself a favour and stop by.

Finally, thank you to everyone who stopped by the pizza wagon, tried our pizza or Island Twists, had a chat, or simply came over to say hello. We met a lot of great people and had a fantastic time at RaceWarz.

And we had a pretty unexpected surprise on the way here…

📞 We got a call saying our NEW PIZZA OVEN had arrived in St. John’s! 🍕🔥

So naturally, there was a quick little detour to pick it up. 😂 With the help of the Burges — Jim, Marilyn, and Gia — we managed to get the new oven installed and ready to go, and we’ll actually be putting it to work TODAY at RaceWarz! 😊

A huge thank you to Jim, Marilyn, and Gia for jumping in and helping us get everything sorted. We really appreciate it!

We’re hoping to open around 3 PM, but our opening time will depend on how the rest of the setup goes. We’ll get things rolling as soon as we’re ready to safely start serving! 🤞🔥

What a fantastic few days at Port Rexton Brewing! 🍕🍺

A huge THANK YOU to PRB, the staff, and everyone who stopped by the pizza wagon for pizza, Island Twists, a yarn, or all three. You kept us busy and we loved every minute of it!

Now the wagon is back home on Random Island and there’s no rest for the wicked. 😂

Today is all about refreshing, restocking, prepping dough and getting the wagon ready to roll again because tomorrow we’re heading east to the Jack Byrne Arena in Torbay for RACEWARZ! 🏎️🔥🍕

It’s going to be a completely different kind of event for us, and we’re really looking forward to being part of it. We’ve heard there’s going to be a great crowd, lots happening throughout the evening, and we’ll be there keeping everyone fed

🥨 The Island Twists have filed a complaint. 😂

Apparently, the pizzas have been getting WAY too much attention on social media lately, and the Twists would like everyone to remember that Jackie makes them from scratch too!

Soft, golden, chewy and made fresh:

🥨 Island Twist – the classic
🍁 Maple Island Twist – finished with maple sugar for a sweet Newfoundland touch
✨ Cinnamon Sugar Island Twist – warm, sweet and basically trouble in pretzel form

So today, we’re giving the pizzas a minute off and letting Jackie’s Twists have the spotlight. 😆

We’re open at Port Rexton Brewery from noon until around 6 PM today, or while supplies last.

We’ll be shutting down a little earlier because tonight we’ve got to point the pizza wagon toward Random Island and make tracks for home. 🚐💨

Come grab a Twist and help settle the jealousy before this gets out of hand. 😂🥨
