Happy Thanksgiving!

Our farm shop and cafe is open today until 4pm. Closed holiday Monday. Lots of yummy things on the menu today including organic chicken sandwiches with cranberry sauce and Brie, mini pumpkin pies, chicken and veg soup, chili, focaccia and lots more!

What an amazing day spent deep in the forest, lost in the moss and following sunbeams to the next happy mushroom valley. Thanks so much Shani’s Kitchen for the wonderful day. Feeling so grateful for the bounty that nature provides.

In recognition of the Natuonal Day of Truth and Reconciliation our farm shop and cafe will be closed.

It is a day to acknowledge the crushing impact of the residential school system and the ongoing effects of colonialism. We remember with great sadness all the children that were forcibly removed from their families, homes and traditional ways of life. We also remember the parents whose precious children were taken against their will and the depths of despair they must have felt. We feel such incredible sadness when we think of the fear and abuse children suffered under their oppressors. What a terrible wrongdoing it was not only steal children but to also try and take their familiar cultural knowledge and tradition from them.

This past has left deep scars that need a lot of nurturing to heal. We can all do our part to support this journey through learning, listening and creating space for traditional ways of knowledge to be known and celebrated.

We see you rising up with great strength reclaiming what is rightfully yours and we stand in solidarity with you utmost respect.

Success! These beauties are straight and strong with beautiful smooth skin. Each one is probably about 2" in diameter but still so crisp and sweet.

Why is this so exciting??

Carrots are surprisingly hard to grow! We've been working hard all season long on building the right soil in this block of deep raised beds and the techniques are working!

Great work farmers Julien Bidalet and Noah Adamson Bond for your perseverance. Now we have a formula we can work on replicating - feed, seed, w**d, harvest and repeat!

Very exciting new product from our friends Foragers Galley .
These pickled shiitake mushrooms are ready to eat and once you pop open a jar it's hard to stop!

We met many many years ago when the foragers were sailing between the southern gulf islands finding local seasonal ingredients and cooking up some very fine looking meals.

It brings us so much joy to continue growing these local forager, farmer and producer relationships. Together we are subverting the big food chains, disrupting the flow of fast cheap goods, slowing things down and strengthening our local food systems!
