Hello friends, its come to my attention somethings
need to be mentioned...
With the absence of Tom and Weezie,
our life here at the cafe has changed.
Kathy will be offering the best of her soups, sandwiches, and baking as she always has.
The BBQ was Tom’s arena of excellence and the
local Russian foods were Weezie’s domain.
Tom passed with dignity and Kathy feels to resurrect the BBQ portion of the menu would never measure up to Tom’s standards.
Weezie, now retired, was the first in the area to commercialize her world famous borscht; we would not like to dishonor her legacy either.
Both are missed.
Kathy has been cooking and baking for friends since she was 16, and continues to do so.
The menu is simple, full of love and flavor.
Kathy still lives above the café (where her and Tom began this food adventure so many years ago) and feels honored to be able to still feed friends and guests (with her small staff of friends) daily from her home-style kitchen.
