One of the hardest parts of running a food business is the side that most people never see.

Behind every event are vendor fees, permits, staff wages, fuel, inventory, prep work, and countless hours spent trying to make everything perfect. We take on all of those costs before serving a single customer.

Today was Canada Day—one of the biggest events of our year. Then a storm rolled in, the event was cancelled, and just like that, everything was gone.

This isn’t a post looking for pity. It’s simply a reminder that behind every small food business are real people taking real risks. Sometimes, despite doing everything right, things completely outside your control can wipe out weeks of hard work.

Here’s hoping for better weather and another chance to serve everyone soon. ❤️
