Hi Everyone. Sailors Rest is close to opening and starting our second season on the Canso waterfront. We are excited to see familiar and new faces at the cafe.
We have two new employees this year. Janice and Emma. Marlee is back and
Allie will help out when she can.
There is an internet issue that should be fixed soon so we will have to go cash or etransfer for a short time. Hopefully early next week.
Most of the items on the menu will be available. There are a few things on back order.
Wednesday will be mostly training but we will be there with coffee on and grill on.
Thursday regular hours.

Schedule, closed Sunday, Monday.
7-3 the rest of the week.

One of Canada's most exciting live bands Shred Kelly is coming to the Guysborough Waterfront after performing at the Halifax Urban Folk Festival and the Larlee Creek Hullabaloo Festival in New Brunswick

For a community the size of Guysborough, opportunities to see touring bands of this calibre don't come along very often. We're thrilled to be part of their Eastern Canada tour and can't wait to welcome them to the waterfront.

Here we are again. Barreling down on another Christmas. From Sailors Rest I'd like to wish everyone the best Christmas ever, enjoying all the things that the holidays should be and everyone has a very happy new year. I look forward to seeing you at Sailors Rest in 2026.

Hi everyone. Another windy waterfront day.
Things have been getting quite slow which was expected. My initial plan was to try and keep going however a new venture has come up for the winter months which makes more sense. I was in this morning and will probably close for the last time this season today. It's been a good season and i've learned a lot about operating a buisness here. The municipality has been fantastic and I can't thank them enough for being so helpful and accommodating. It sure helped me to keep things running. I'd like to thank the people I've had here working beside me. Your work ethic and professionalism dealing with the public was second to none.
But I want to thank the people of Canso and surrounding area for supporting this little cafe, (burger joint), on the waterfront. It's meant a lot to see you come back time and time again.
I hope this continues and I see you all next year.
