An idea that has been going around is the concept of extraction chilling (brewing over a frozen steel ball). Coffee professional Lance Hendrick recent brought up the idea of the Samo Bloom. Which is decreasing the tempurature of the water used for the blooming stage of coffee, in an attempt to preserve more of the aromatic of the coffee.

Here at NSC, we tried pouring hot water over a frozen steel ball and found the water hitting the coffee was a perfect 60°C. Worth a try for your next pour over!
