Work-life balance as a small business owner can look a little different every day. ☕💕

This morning, I traded teacups for a field trip and spent the day at the zoo with over 100 energetic Grade 9 students. 🦒🐧🦁

By afternoon, it was back to business—picking up catering supplies, delivering china rentals, and making sure everything was in place for upcoming celebrations. 🚗🍰🫖

Some days are all about events. Some days are paperwork. And some days are a little bit of everything! That’s the reality of running a small business: wearing many hats while finding moments to enjoy the journey along the way. 💗

💜✨ Today, The Travelling Teacups had the honour of providing catering and vintage china rentals for a beautiful Celebration of Life.

We are so grateful to the family and friends for trusting us to help create a warm and welcoming space where loved ones could gather, share memories, and celebrate a life well lived. It is always a privilege to be invited into such meaningful moments. 💐

This gathering felt especially close to my heart. As I unpacked the china, arranged the tables, and added the finishing touches, I couldn’t help but notice how much purple was woven throughout the celebration. Purple was my own mom’s favourite colour, and seeing it everywhere brought back so many cherished memories. It made being part of this day feel even more special and reminded me how powerful the little details can be in telling someone’s story. 🎀

🌸🫖 A Mother’s Day gift that combines two of my favourite things: teapots and birds! 🐦💕

I was absolutely delighted to receive these adorable teapot birdhouses for Mother’s Day. As someone who spends so much of her time surrounded by teacups, teapots, and all things afternoon tea, these charming little treasures feel like they were made just for me! 🌹✨

Now they will have a special place in my garden, where I’ll be keeping an eye out for tiny feathered guests looking for a cozy new home. I can’t think of a sweeter way to bring together my love of tea and nature. 🌿🐤

Feeling so incredibly spoiled and grateful today 🩷

We were recently gifted the most beautiful vintage teapot set in a pattern I had never seen before — Blue Blossom by Royal Albert. The delicate blue florals, elegant fluted shape, and timeless gold accents are absolutely breathtaking. ✨

One of my favourite parts of collecting and using vintage china is discovering patterns with their own little piece of history. Royal Albert has been creating fine English bone china since the late 1800s and became famous for their romantic floral designs inspired by English gardens. The Blue Blossom pattern was produced in the 1990s and has since become a discontinued treasure cherished by collectors. 💐☕️

There’s something so special about giving these beautiful pieces a second life around the tea table. I already know this lovely set will be part of many memorable tea moments to come. 🎀
