Chef Chris Bleidorn of first met Darren over a birthday dinner. Darren had an eye for the custom plates Chris designs for Birdsong. He admired them and then licked one clean, prompting Chris to come over and meet him. The rest is history.

Birdsong holds two Michelin stars in San Francisco, recognized for its live-fire approach and Pacific Northwest inspired cuisine.

In his interview, Chris speaks his first encounter with Darren and what it means to keep a restaurant open and relevant for over a decade.
