Introducing “Concrete,” our latest collaboration with , inspired by John Wilson’s “The History of Concrete,” which makes its Canadian premiere at the festival this year. A black sesame base topped with toffee bits. $1 from every serving is donated to CUFF.
John Wilson is the filmmaker behind the beloved HBO docuseries “How To with John Wilson,” executive produced by Nathan Fielder, known for turning quiet observations of everyday life into something genuinely strange and moving. “The History of Concrete” is his feature debut and played Sundance earlier this year.
The 23rd Calgary Underground Film Festival runs April 16 to 26 at the Globe Cinema, with 45 features, 35 shorts, and six special events over 11 days. Lukes is proud to be the title sponsor. We’ll also be selling limited-edition CUFF totes illustrated by Tom Bagley alongside their hot sauce in store at both locations.

Lukes Drug Mart Bridgeland turns 75 years old tomorrow. Our first day of operations was April 11th, 1951, in the same building we’re in today.
We’re proud to be a third generation family business, but with the recent passing of my father in January, this day isn’t quite what it should have been.
I want to thank the community for all the loyal support over the years, and our staff, past and present, who are the reason we’ve lasted this long. We’ve changed a lot since the soda fountain days of the 50s and 60s, and we appreciate everyone who has stayed with us and pushed us to keep improving.
We look forward to many more decades in Bridgeland.

City Boys Outpost is a weekend popup running out of in Bridgeland, open Friday and Saturday from 5PM to 10PM. Reservations are available via DM with limited walk-ins. If you haven’t been yet, it’s definitely worth checking out. It’s one of our favourite places in Bridgeland.

“French Toast,” our soft serve collaboration with our friends at .yyc , now open at their permanent home at 306 Centre Street S in Chinatown. Inspired by their dessert, this soft serve blends a vanilla and brown-butter base, topped with gluten-free honey-butter graham crumble.
Francine’s is a petit French bar from bar manager Nate Wry and chef Garrett Martin. Their pop-up quickly became one of Calgary’s most sought-after spots. It’s run by some of the most talented people in the city and we highly recommend checking them out.
French Toast soft serve is now available at both Bridgeland and Killarney locations.

Robert (Bob) Lukes ran Lukes Drug Mart from 1985 to 2013. He passed away last week from pancreatic cancer. He will be missed. Thank you to everyone for the kind words.
