A Small Bowl, A Warm Gesture of Kindness ❤️
Starting today, A Bowl of Kindness is officially beginning at Pho 99 SFU.
Inspired by the Vietnamese tradition of “Phở Treo”, we hope to offer a simple and respectful way for our community to care for one another.

Each day, Pho 99 SFU staff will donate 10 free meals for anyone who may need one. No questions asked, no explanation needed, just a warm meal, shared with dignity.
If you would like to join us and pay a meal forward, you can:

* Visit us in store and donate at the cashier
* Send us a DM on Instagram
* Email us at [email protected]

Every donated meal will add one more meal card to the box, together with the 10 meals we provide each day.

It may be a small gesture, but we hope it can bring a little warmth to someone’s day. Thank you for helping us share a little kindness with our community. ❤️

Nectar Cold Brew Coffee🍯☕
Looking for something refreshing to sip on this summer? Come give this one a try.
We made our Nectar Cold Brew with Yellow Bourbon Arabica from Cầu Đất, Vietnam, with notes of brown sugar, yellow fruit, and delicate florals. We pair it with Yellow Bourbon Honey (also from Vietnam) to bring out even more of that beautiful aroma and sweetness.
It’s lightly bitter, naturally sweet, floral, and fruity, then topped with a little honeycomb candy for that bittersweet crunch that lingers on your taste buds.
Cold, refreshing, and just a little different from your usual coffee.🙌

But at Pho 99 SFU, we like to take our time and make things the way we believe they should be, with care, quality, and a whole lot of heart.

Meet our two newest drinks:
Strawberry Matcha Latte, made with premium matcha from Shizuoka, Japan
Strawberry Hojicha Latte, featuring roasted hojicha from Uji, Kyoto
Both are made with our housemade strawberry compote and housemade vanilla syrup, creating a smooth, balanced sweetness that pairs beautifully with the rich tea flavors.

New on the menu: Cơm Gà Xối Mỡ , Vietnamese crispy chicken with rice.

This dish brings back such a familiar childhood memory. I still remember the smell from the big wok of hot oil, then the chicken goes in and suddenly it sounds like heavy rain. That crispy sound, together with the smell, could make anyone hungry right away.

When KFC first opened in Vietnam, it was quite expensive for us. Some people tried it and told me, “It’s kind of like Cơm Gà Xối Mỡ… same same, but different.” When I finally tried it, I understood exactly what they meant. Both are crispy outside and tender inside, but the Vietnamese version has its own soul.

Ours comes with a crispy chicken quarter, jasmine rice, fresh veggies, and our house-made sweet garlic nước chấm. Honestly, the sauce is what brings everything together.

Come try our Vietnamese-style crispy chicken. One bite might be all it takes.

We’ve got a new coffee we’d love for you to try. ☕️

We’re excited to welcome NAPEA, NAMBAN-Fine Robusta from Bùi Coffee Supply to our coffee bar. Bùi works closely with farmers in Nam Ban, Lâm Đồng, carefully selecting fully ripe coffee cherries and roasting them to bring out the true character of Vietnamese Fine Robusta.

To experience this coffee, we’re brewing it the traditional Vietnamese way through a phin. But instead of the classic brewer, we’re using PHINƠI, a thoughtfully redesigned phin that delivers a smoother, cleaner, and more consistent cup while keeping the slow-drip ritual we all know and love.

It’s a familiar way of making coffee, with a fresh perspective.

We’ve got something new brewing. ☕

If you’ve been to Vietnam, you’ve probably seen coffee slowly dripping through a little metal phin.

Now we’re trying something a little different.

We’ve started brewing with PHINƠI, a modern take on the traditional Vietnamese phin. It keeps the slow-drip ritual we all love, while making each cup a little cleaner, smoother, and more consistent.

Whether you enjoy a classic cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese Milk Coffee) or want to try a clean black coffee, we’d love to make you one.

A new way to enjoy Vietnamese coffee at Pho 99 SFU.

We’re excited to introduce our new Vietnamese coffee beans, featuring Catimor Arabica and Yellow Bourbon Arabica sourced from Vietnam. This is a humble effort from our team to bring customers a new experience, one that feels familiar, but also invites you to explore Vietnamese coffee in a different way.

For our Phin-brew coffee, we use Catimor Arabica, brewed slowly with the PhinOi filter and served in-store only. It brings a rich, smooth, and deep flavour that pairs beautifully with condensed milk.

For our Batch-brew coffee, we prepare it ahead with our house blend of Yellow Bourbon Arabica and Vietnamese Robusta. It is smooth, balanced, satisfying, and ready to go, lighter than the traditional style, so you can comfortably enjoy more than one cup a day.

Together, these coffees are our small invitation for you to slow down, taste, and explore a new side of Vietnamese coffee with us.

“Pho Treo”
A Small Bowl of Pho, A Warm Gesture of Kindness

In Vietnam, there is a beautiful act of giving called “Phở Treo”, inspired by the Italian tradition of Caffè Sospeso - “suspended coffee.”

The idea is simple: when visiting a pho restaurant, a guest may choose to pay for an extra bowl of pho and “leave it hanging” for someone in need. Later, the restaurant offers that bowl of pho for free to a person facing hardship.

What makes this gesture meaningful is not only the meal itself, but the kindness behind it. The giver and receiver do not need to meet, allowing the act to remain quiet, respectful, and full of dignity. In many places, the number of donated bowls is also recorded clearly so the community can follow along with trust.

At Pho 99 SFU, we have been touched by this beautiful practice in Vietnam, and we hope to bring this small act of kindness to our own community here.

We are currently preparing to introduce Phở Treo-A Bowl of Kindness at Pho 99 SFU. It is a humble effort, but we hope each bowl can bring a little warmth and care to someone who may need it.
