Thank you to everyone who has been so kind and supportive over the years and especially over the past month as we made a last effort to find a way to address the occupancy load issue with our space. Having looked into the situation even further and carefully examined our options, we have made the difficult decision to close our cafe.

Although we are deeply saddened and this isn't the outcome we had hoped for, there is peace in this decision. God doesn't promise that we won't face hardships in this life nor that He will always change our difficult circumstances, but He does promise that He will always be with us, even in our deepest valleys.

So we're going to step into the next season of our lives with peace, gratitude and many fond memories. It's been a joy serving our community and meeting so many amazing people! Not sure what is next, but we will continue to trust in God and believe He has good plans for us.

Our last day of regular business operation will be Friday August 21st. Please come and enjoy our cafe during our final days!

On Saturday August 22nd we will be hosting a Farewell Party from 4pm to 7pm if you would like to come and say good bye. We would love to see you there!

A few non-bathroom related updates!

Starting this week, our Play Room for babies and toddlers will be open on Saturdays!

New Play Room hours: Wednesday to Saturday 9am - 5pm.

Also, customers will now be able to bring in their own board games to play! Please note, board game cover is still applicable.

Hopefully we will have some more bathroom related updates later this week!

Thank you everyone for your kind words, suggestions, prayers and for sharing our story!! It's so ecouraging to see the amazing community of people behind us! Our hearts are truly touched. 🥹❤️

We have received some wise counsel and have decided to move forward with determining the exact costs to construct more bathrooms.

Do you have any recommendations for contractors and suppliers? If so, please tag them in the comments or send us a dm!

It is with great saddness that we are writing this post, but our lease is up for renewal this fall and we may not be renewing.

We have always done our best to operate our business with integrity, no matter the cost, but we've been facing a problem to which we see no viable path forward.

Our cafe space is huge, but our occupancy load is only 40 people because we only have 2 bathrooms.

Over the years, we've tried reaching out to many different parties for help. Most have told us to ignore the occupancy load because no one will ever come and check compliance, but we just can't do this in good concious. It seems like the only path forward is to construct more washrooms, but we don't have the funds to do this.

Our decision is not final, as we still have a couple weeks and have prayed for a miracle, but no matter the outcome, we will go forward in peace with no regrets ❤️

Please share our story and maybe there's someone out there who can help us or knows a way to solve this problem!
