Carvella Cafe is Changing ...

The cafe is changing from a restaurant to a Small Event Center (SEC) and is planning to re-open spring of 2026. Events that will be hosted include small Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthdays, Celebrations of Life, Religious events, Corporate events, Meetings or any gathering that requires a beautiful getaway location hosting up to 50 people indoors.

From now until March 2026, we will be preparing for events, with some minor interior renovations, and plans for a large outdoor deck early in the year. We will soon we will be releasing pricing and service offerings for events, but in the meantime we welcome you to contact Jocelyn at 403.872.0083 with any questions and to express interest in an event in the new year (Spring and beyond).

We will also be pursuing a name change for Carvella Cafe and invite you to submit your suggestions via post on this website. The lucky winner will receive a prize worth $100 for the chosen name. Also, we will be making changes to our social media, including this Facebook account and perhaps a new Website.

So until spring 2026 we invite you to do the following:
1 - stay tuned, as we'll post changes here until a new site arrives.
2 - post here a new name for our Small Event Center.
3 - call Jocelyn with questions or pre-booking for events.

Hello Everyone,

It's been a long time since we posted an update. Carvella Cafe is not yet ready to open. We are doing some much needed renovations, including a garage (for storage) and newly landscaped parking lot. And, unfortunately, we have not yet secured a new chef/cook. We will try to keep you posted on a weekly basis.

Hello Everyone,

We want to touch base to let you know that we have not been successful in our search for appropriate staffing for the café. We are looking at other options on a go forward basis to open up in a different direction. We are not sure at this point what would be the best direction but we are open for other options.

If you know anyone who would be interested in helping out as we transition to a new model, please send them our way. We also investigating consultant help to look at new avenues for potential business opportunities, such as the following:

1) Gift shop (this would be something that we could do on a smaller cafe model).
2) Specialty wine store and wine tasting events.
3) Games events and music nights

We will consider any idea if profitable and the demand is there. Let us know if any suggestions.

Hello and Merry Christmas

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and friendships over this past year. We have had some wonderful times but most important the friendships that we have made over this past year have been incredible. It was all worth it and we look forward to seeing all of you again in the New Year.

We are still actively looking to fill the chef/cook position and are hoping to be up and running soon. We will keep you posted on the status monthly.

Thank you to those who booked their Christmas Events with us. It was a great experience and we appreciate your kind words and gratitude. We look forward to hosting more events in the future.

Hello,
I just wanted to give an update on the status of Carvella. We have been hosting a few Christmas events with the help of our cook though out December. We are still actively looking for a chef and will be reaching into different markets and areas in the New Year. For us, and for you we are hoping to be up and running soon.
We miss seeing all of our regular and new customers and this place is not the same without you. Please reach out if you know of anyone interested in part or full time chef work.

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick update on the status of our business. We are still actively looking for a chef for the cafe. We are hosting Christmas events based on the availability of our current cook. If you are interested in booking your Christmas party with us, please feel free to reach out. Our special entres for the events are Roasted Turkey, and smoked Brisket.
We will be offering all the fixings (Buffet style) for the Christmas season.

We are excited to be open this coming Sunday for Brunch. Looks like it will be a nice day before winters hits. We will have our regular breakfast menu and will also be offering homemade Quiche and Cinnamon Buns. There will be a Chefs special soup and sandwich along with our traditional French Onion Soup. Please call for a reservation or stop in for a coffee and dessert.

CARVELLA CAFE UPDATE:
We have been open for 6 months. What an exciting time it has been for both Dennis and I. We have to say, the most amazing part of this whole adventure has been meeting each and everyone of you. The relationships and friendships we have made have been amazing. Thank you to all of you who have come to meet us and support us. You have made it all worthwhile.
We wanted to give you an update as to where we are going forward into fall and winter. We are currently looking for a CHEF/COOK. Until we find someone to meet the business needs and hours of operation. we will temporarily be closed. Our current cook has been amazing and we want to say thank you for helping through the past few months. We will still be working together on special events and she will be helping us out when she is available.
We are expecting to open for afternoon cafe hours soon. Keep posted.

We also want to say thank you for the feedback you provided throughout the past few months. Many of you have told us you would like to see some of the giftware and retail items back. We are currently working with some local venues, and previous retailers to accommodate this request. In addition to this, we have had many requests for the prime rib dinners. We will make every effort to bring it back on Friday evenings and keep you posted.

We are making every effort to provide you with the level of service and exceptional food quality in the industry. We have enjoyed this journey and feel we are now better prepared to move forward.

Thank you everyone for attending Carvella Café fantastic Thanksgiving feast on Saturday. We were proud to serve you and thankful you included us in your festivities.

Next weekend, October 15, 16, Carvella Café will not be open. Our apologies while we adjust our schedule to assist staff requirements.

See you the week of October 30. for Sunday Brunch. Rumor has it that there may be some aircraft landing (NOT YET CONFIRMED) to sample our world famous coffee, desserts and specialties!
