There’s one more thing we feel is important to say as we say goodbye to this place.
For the past seven years, we’ve had the incredible privilege of working on this little piece of land along the York River.
This is the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg, whose relationship with and care for this land stretches back since time immemorial and continues today.
Seven years is a long time in a life, but it’s only a moment in the much longer story of this land.
We feel incredibly lucky that, for those seven years, this is where we worked, built our business, raised our family and made so many friends and memories. We got to watch the river change with the seasons, storms roll in, leaves turn, snow fall and the sun set over the water.
We never really owned this view.
We were just lucky enough to be here for a little while.
Now, someone else will have the opportunity to care for this place, and we hope they love it as much as we did.
