My sister Alison is the dahlia queen and babies these tubers each season— planting, staking, pruning n’ slug proofing them in our backyard, while we reap the rewards all summer long! It’s also her birthday today .. so instead of sending her flowers we’re making this flower post … 💐🥰

We were looking for a unicorn front of house worker midway through this summer and Ceri Tropicool Studio 🌞 Illustrator & Artist 🌞 Ceri Lou sent us her resume— She couldn’t start for a few weeks cause she lives half the year in South Africa. Immediately thought “scam”, but kept chatting regardless… and thank gosh we did cause she has been a key player in our restaurant and cafe success this season!

Somewhere in between slanging latte’s at the cafe in the morning and serving chimichangas at the restaurant at night, she found the time to make this quirky map for us. We have a lot packed on our little West Bamfield property and she did an unreal job showcasing all the pieces of it for us :)

In the age of AI it’s been so refreshing to work with talented artists like her and Rio Kaneki . They’ve helped shape our vision and brand, while being so kind and easy to work with. Reach out to them for any projects you’re looking for some help with !! ❣️❣️❣️

We had a super cute restaurant service last night filled with guests who really seemed to see and appreciate what we’re up to out here!

Last busy weekend of the season; we’ve got a fun feature sheet, new beers and ciders, and 3 cool by-the-glass wines by 3 cool BC wineries to try out!

When life sends you 9 cases of heavy cream instead of 9 cartons..

You make butter, then use that butter to fat wash tequila, then use that tequila to make a blueberry margarita, then with the leftover buttermilk from the butter .. clarify that margarita.

Behold: the Blueberry Pancake Margarita, garnished with what else .. a baby blueberry blini 🥞 🧈🫐 on our cocktail menu now :)
