Verschiedene gemütliche Unterkünfte, spannende Aktivitäten: Reiten durch Wälder, Kanufahren, Wandern, Angeln, Schneeschuhtouren. Das Red Cariboo Resort liegt im Chilcotin in British Columbia in Canada. Es ist auf einem 60 Hektar großen Wildgrundstück unmittelbar am Dean River gelegen. Hier wurde das Resort in mehrjähriger Planungs- und Aufbauarbeit von Axel Opper, einem deutschen Kanada-Kenner, en

twickelt. Aus kanadischem Holz der Region hat er mit seinem Team Cabins (Holzhütten) mit einem oder zwei Schlafräumen, sowie mehrere Appartements mit eigener Küche gebaut. Die Ausstattung der Cabins und Apartments sind auf modernen Komfort ausgerichtet mit Zentralheizung und TV mit Premium-Programmen. Das ebenfalls aus kanadischem Holz erbaute Haupthaus mit dem Restaurant und die Pferdeställe bilden ein naturnahes Gebäudeensemble, in dem man sich rundum wohlfühlt. Die Anlage verfügt über zwei urige Grillanlagen / Feuerstellen, die von großen und kleinen Gruppen für zünftige Barbecues genutzt werden können. In der Hauptanlage befindet sich eine großzügige Gemeinschaftsküche. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für Lebensmittel befinden sich im nahegelegenen Ort Anahim Lake. Die Bar und Lounge im Haupthaus, in dem sich auch die Rezeption befindet, ist der zentrale Gäste-Treffpunkt, z.B. für gute Gespräche in der Gruppe oder gesellige Runden bei Billiard, Darts oder Tischfussball. Für individuelle Naturentdecker bieten wir einen Vermietservice für Mountain-Bikes, Kanus, Boote, Schneeschuhe, Cross-Coutry-Skier und Angel-Ausrüstung an. ZUdem bieten wir geführte Ausritte auf unseren Pferden an. Gegen Voranmeldung stellen wir für Familien und Gruppen gerne auch individuelle geführte Tourprogramme zusammen.

Do you already have a valid Canadian Work Permit (IEC/Working Holiday Visa) and a SIN on hand? Are you looking for the ultimate adventure far away from the typical tourist crowds? Perfect - we are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our resort team as soon as possible to help prepare our property for the winter season.

Your main responsibility will be preparing and stacking enough firewood to fully stock our woodsheds before the cold season arrives. If you have additional skills in maintenance, mechanics, or general handyman work, there may be an opportunity to extend your employment after the firewood project is complete and assist with other resort projects.

* Safely felling trees and processing them into firewood.
* Operating and maintaining chainsaws and forestry equipment.
* Driving and operating a tractor and other property equipment.
* Cutting, splitting, transporting, and neatly stacking firewood.
* Helping maintain equipment and keeping it in good working condition.
* Following safe work practices while working outdoors and around machinery.

🇨🇦🐴 Meet Posie – part of our horse family series!

Posie was born in 1998 and has been with us since 2010. She is our lovely senior mare and now fully enjoying her retirement.

She is no longer being ridden and spends her days peacefully enjoying life at the resort.

Posie is also Eddie’s “adoptive mom,” and the two of them are almost always seen together. They share a very special bond.

Every now and then she can drift off on her own and temporarily lose track of the herd—but she always finds her calm way back.

A wise, gentle soul enjoying her well-deserved retirement 💛

Posie ist 1998 geboren und seit 2010 bei uns. Sie ist unsere liebe Rentnerin und genießt mittlerweile ihre wohlverdiente Pferderente.

Sie wird nicht mehr geritten und verbringt ihre Tage entspannt und ruhig hier im Resort.

Posie ist außerdem Eddie’s Ziehmama, und die beiden sind fast immer gemeinsam unterwegs – sie haben eine ganz besondere Verbindung.

Manchmal verliert sie ein bisschen den Anschluss an die Herde, findet aber immer wieder ruhig zurück.

We thought we had both positions filled, but as life goes, plans changed unexpectedly for our new team members, and they had to cancel.
That means BOTH jobs are officially open again for an immediate start!
If you already have a valid Canadian Work Permit (IEC/Working Holiday Visa) and an SIN, this is your second chance to join the Red Cariboo Resort team in Anahim Lake, British Columbia!
We are looking for two energetic allrounders who are ready to start right away:

🔥 JOB 1: HORSE CARETAKER & RESORT ALLROUNDER
• Tasks: horse care (feeding, daily handling, training, and leading guest trail rides) + resort support (housekeeping, firewood, and basic resort tasks).
• Requirements: Experience handling horses, independent work ethic, and great teamwork skills.

🔧 JOB 2: JANITOR / MECHANIC & RESORT ALLROUNDER
• Tasks: General maintenance and servicing of resort vehicles, heavy machinery, and equipment; general handyman work (property upkeep, painting, gardening); and backup support for firewood and housekeeping.
• Requirements: Related electro-mechanical experience or training, strong problem-solving skills, and a preferred minimum stay of 6 months. English required (German is an asset).

* Helping the team with firewood management and providing backup support for housekeeping and laundry when needed.

* **What you bring:** A minimum of 1 year of related electro-mechanical experience or training, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a rural environment. English is required (German is an asset). Minimum stay of 6 months preferred.

🇨🇦 🐾 Meet Alberich – better known as Albi or “Wursti” – part of our resort dog family!

Just like Wotan, Alberich got his name from the legends of the Rhinegold. In the stories, Alberich is the sneaky little dwarf who steals the gold. Here at the resort, the only thing he would ever steal is probably food 😄

Albi has been with us since June 2024. He came to us at 6 months old after nobody wanted to take him because he was the smallest puppy of the litter. So, of course, Axel took him in.

Albi always seems to be on a mission. He is constantly exploring, investigating, and looking for something interesting to do. Because of that, former staff members started calling him “the little detective.”

According to Axel, he is also the sportiest Basset Hound in existence.

Even though he is always busy, Albi’s favorite place is still directly in someone’s arms. He seems convinced that otherwise he might not get enough attention.

A funny little character with endless personality and energy 💛

Wie Wotan stammt auch Alberichs Name aus den Sagen des Rheingolds.
Dort ist Alberich der diebische kleine Zwerg, der das Gold stiehlt. Hier im Resort würde er höchstens mal versuchen, Essen zu klauen 😄

Albi ist seit Juni 2024 bei uns. Er kam mit 6 Monaten zu uns, nachdem ihn niemand haben wollte, weil er der kleinste Welpe aus seinem Wurf war. Also hat Axel ihn natürlich aufgenommen

Albi ist eigentlich immer auf einer Mission. Er untersucht alles, ist ständig unterwegs und immer auf der Suche nach etwas Spannendem. Deshalb haben ehemalige Mitarbeiter ihn auch „den kleinen Detektiv“ genannt.

Laut Axel ist er außerdem der sportlichste Basset Hound, den es gibt.

Trotzdem möchte Albi am liebsten immer direkt auf den Arm, weil er Angst hat, sonst nicht genug Aufmerksamkeit zu bekommen.

Ein kleiner lustiger Charakter mit unendlich viel Persönlichkeit und Energie 💛

🇨🇦🐾 Meet Wotan – part of our resort dog family!

Wotan got his name from the legends of the Rhinegold — Wotan, the god of gods.

He was born in the summer of 2023 at Chilco Lake and came to us in September 2023. Even though he is the biggest of our dogs, he is actually not the oldest.

With his large white-beige appearance, Wotan is hard to miss. Together, all three of our dogs help keep an eye on the resort and make sure no wild animals — or suspicious squirrels 😉 — get too close.

Despite his size, Wotan is incredibly loving and mostly just wants attention, cuddles, and to be part of everything going on around him.

A gentle giant with a big personality and an even bigger heart 💛

Wotan hat seinen Namen aus den Sagen des Rheingolds — Wotan, der Gott der Götter.

Er wurde im Sommer 2023 am Chilco Lake geboren und kam im September 2023 zu uns. Obwohl er der größte unserer Hunde ist, ist er tatsächlich nicht der älteste.

Mit seinem großen weiß-beigen Erscheinungsbild fällt Wotan sofort auf. Gemeinsam passen unsere drei Hunde auf das Resort auf und sorgen dafür, dass wilde Tiere — oder verdächtige Eichhörnchen 😉 — Abstand halten.

Trotz seiner Größe ist Wotan unglaublich lieb und möchte am liebsten immer Aufmerksamkeit, Streicheleinheiten und überall mit dabei sein.

Ein sanfter Riese mit großem Charakter und noch größerem Herzen 💛
