So… we did something.

We saw our first live bear up in the Kincardine area and, to be honest, it scared us so much that we went out and bought a food trailer. 🐻😂 (disclaimer : no that's not a real bear in the picture- yes we actually saw our first bear! :) )

Yep, that’s right!

After a lot of hard work, a few sleepless nights, plenty of laughs, and more than a couple unexpected twists along the way, we’re excited to share that Frate Street Food is going mobile!

These renderings give you a glimpse of the direction we’re planning for the wrap, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.

Anyone who owns a small business knows the journey isn’t always easy. We used to think you just opened the doors and instantly became rich… turns out that’s not exactly how it works! 🤣 But when you truly love what you do and appreciate the people who support you, it’s all worth it.

We can’t wait to get this trailer on the road, serve amazing food in new places, and continue being part of the communities that have supported us from day one.

Stay tuned for updates as we bring this project to life. We still have some things to get things to do to get this off the ground. We’ll be seeing everyone very soon from our new food trailer!

When we say local, we mean it.

For us, local isn’t a hashtag, a trend, or something we do because it sounds good. It’s a commitment to the community that has supported us from day one.

From the quality meats we source from our hometown butcher, , to the cheese from Galati, to working with local businesses like Taron Consulting thank you and Laura for our bookkeeping, @107.9ckbg and we believe in keeping our dollars in the community whenever possible.

A special thank you goes to our friends at GL Heritage Brewing Company. Over the years, they’ve been much more than a venue partner. They’ve shown us what it truly means to be a community partner. We’ve had the privilege of working alongside them on countless charitable events and fundraisers that have directly supported local causes, organizations, and families in need.

What stands out most is that community involvement isn’t something they do for recognition—it’s simply part of who they are. We’ve learned a lot from the entire team at about giving back, supporting others, and building something that extends far beyond your own business. And truthfully, we still have a lot more to learn.

We also believe the places we choose to spend our money should be invested in the communities they serve. When businesses support local suppliers, local professionals, local charities, and local events, the benefits ripple throughout the entire community, creating jobs, opportunities, and a stronger local economy for everyone.

It’s not forced. It’s not a marketing strategy. It’s something we’re passionate about.

Last night we tested out our Mar y Tierra tacos (we had to Google that) 😂

Marinated flank steak.
Butter poached lobster.
Questionable Spanish.
Excellent tacos.

Safe to say… these might need to hit the menu soon 👀

This weekend is a BIG one… because it’ll be our LAST weekend at GL Heritage Brewing Co. until the end of June! 👀🔥

So we decided to go ALL OUT.

One thing we’ve heard over and over lately…
“Wait… THAT’S gluten free?!” 😳

YES. YES IT IS.

Moving forward, Frate will officially have a 100% GLUTEN FREE FRYER 🙌

That means our crispy chicken, perch, shrimp, fries and more can be done gluten free without sacrificing flavour, crunch or quality. Because gluten free should NEVER mean bland and boring.

This menu is proof that gluten free can still absolutely slap 💥
