HELP US SETTLE A GLOBE DEBATE…

Sunday dinner at The Globe.

Which one are you ordering?

A) SUNDAY PRIME RIB

Slow-roasted prime rib, Yorkshire pudding, creamy mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and rich jus.

OR

B) THE GLOBE ROTISSERIE CHICKEN

Golden, herb-roasted rotisserie chicken with crispy skin, creamy mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and house-made gravy.

If only ONE could earn a spot as our Sunday dinner feature… which one gets your vote?

PRIME RIB or ROTISSERIE CHICKEN?

We’ve been reading every comment, every message and every “when are you opening?!” — and we have to say… seeing how excited everyone is about what’s coming at The Globe has made this even more special.

Behind these doors, a lot is happening.

Recipes are being tested. Menus are taking shape. Tables are being moved. Old favourites are being talked about. New ideas are being brought to life. And slowly, this beautiful old building is starting to feel like The Globe again.

We don’t want to give too much away just yet.
But we can tell you this:

Expect warm tea biscuits arriving at the table.
Expect the kind of food you actually crave — bubbling French onion soup, beautiful pies, Sunday prime rib, a really good burger and comforting dishes made properly.
Expect cozy tables, warm lighting, generous portions and a room that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.

And most importantly, expect hospitality to be at the heart of everything we do.

The Globe has always been more than a restaurant.
We’re getting ready to remind everyone why.
Coming soon.

When we asked what you wanted to see from the next chapter of The Globe, we expected a few favourite dishes, a few memories and maybe a little advice.

We didn't expect more than 160 comments filled with decades of stories.

We read about first dates that turned into marriages. Engagements by the fireplace. Rehearsal dinners upstairs. Anniversaries celebrated year after year. Christmas traditions. Birthday dinners. Lunches with mothers and fathers. Friends meeting around the same table for years.

And somewhere in almost every story was the same feeling.

The Globe wasn't simply somewhere you went for dinner.

It was somewhere you went to make a memory.

We also heard you loud and clear about what you miss.

The warm tea biscuits. The chutneys. The soups. Prime rib and Cornish hen. Homemade pies and desserts. Beautiful salads. Fresh, local ingredients. Generous plates. Little touches you didn't expect.

But more than any one dish, you told us you miss the warmth.

The old-country-inn feeling. The charm. The cozy rooms. The feeling that dinner didn't need to be rushed. The kind of place where you could settle in, order a glass of wine, eat something wonderful and stay awhile.

We heard that part especially clearly.

So while we aren't trying to recreate The Globe exactly as it existed decades ago, we are looking backward before we move forward.

We're bringing warmth and character back into the dining room. We're digging into some of the dishes and traditions you haven't stopped talking about. We're building a menu around comforting, beautiful food with a few surprises of our own. And we're thinking about all those little details that made a meal at The Globe feel different from a meal anywhere else.

Some things deserve to be remembered.

Some deserve to be brought back.

And some new traditions are waiting to be made.

Thank you for trusting us with your memories — especially the deeply personal ones. We've read them, we've shared them with each other, and they've genuinely influenced what we're creating behind these doors.

The next chapter of The Globe is beginning to take shape.

And after reading your stories, we know exactly what we want it to feel like

Help Us Bring The Globe Back

For generations, The Globe has been more than just a restaurant. It’s been a destination. A place where birthdays were celebrated, anniversary dinners lingered late into the evening, Christmas gatherings became traditions, and friends and family came together around great food and genuine hospitality.

As we prepare to reopen, we’re asking the people who know The Globe best... you.

Whether your favourite memories are from 20 years ago or just a few months ago, we want to hear them.

What dish do you still think about? Was it the famous tea biscuits? A meal you wish never left the menu? Was it the warm, home-cooked feeling, the generous portions, or simply the way The Globe made you feel?

Most importantly, what would make you say, “We have to make a reservation.”

Our goal isn’t just to reopen our doors. It’s to bring back the warmth, comfort, and hospitality that have made The Globe so special for generations, while creating something exciting for the future.

So tell us everything. The memories, the meals, the traditions, and the little details that made you keep coming back. We’d love to know what you’d like to see stay, what you’d love to see return, and what would make The Globe your go-to destination once again.

Leave a comment below. We’ll be reading every single one, and your feedback will help shape the next chapter of The Globe.

We can’t wait to welcome you back.

The Globe is taking a short pause... for a little Globe up!

We’re temporarily closed while we make some exciting changes behind the scenes. This isn’t goodbye—it’s simply a chance for us to refresh, reimagine, and create an even better experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

As we begin this new chapter, we’d also like to extend our sincere thanks to our previous chef, Jay Klausen, for his passion, creativity, and countless memorable meals shared with our guests over the last two years. We are incredibly grateful for everything he brought to The Globe and wish him nothing but success in his next adventure.

As we look ahead, we’re excited to build on that legacy while bringing fresh ideas, new flavours, and the same warm hospitality you’ve always known and loved.

Thank you for your patience and continued support while we work away. We promise it’ll be worth the wait.

Stay tuned over the coming weeks for behind-the-scenes updates, sneak peeks, and our reopening date. We can’t wait to welcome you back.
