THE WHARF – TEMPORARY CLOSURE
Due to Construction

The Wharf is now closed while we move into the next stage of construction, focusing on the downstairs area, landscaping and new carpark.

We know this space has become part of your Saturday mornings, and we’re looking forward to reopening with something even better.

What’s next:
– New accommodation launching August
– Larder shop open on weekdays
– Saturday mornings (including Parkrun support) returning

A big thank you to our team, the community, Bass Strait Builders and everyone who has supported us through this build. We are really excited for the next chapter.

We’ve pulled something special together for Easter at The Wharf.

For one weekend only, Darren Purchese and Cath Claringbold from Studio Kitchen are stepping into the kitchen for a Flinders Island Bake Sale — built around good ingredients, slow baking, and a bit of Easter goodness.

We’ll be using what’s close to home — local produce, eggs, lemons, honey and a touch of wh**ky through the mix.

Good Friday
Hot cross buns only (bags of 6)
Slow proved overnight, baked fresh in the morning
Pick up 11am–2pm
Coffee on as well

Easter Saturday (9am–12pm | Parkrun 9–12pm)
Come by after your run or wander down for something warm:

Savoury
– Quiche Lorraine + vego quiche
– Focaccia (silverbeet & cheese / chicken)
– Hot cross buns (warm + bags of 6)

Sweet
– Basque cheesecake with rhubarb
– Easter cupcakes for the kids
– Chocolate layer cake
– Zucchini cake with pistachio & citrus
– Gluten free chocolate cake with island honeycomb

We’re making a limited amount of everything — once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Come early, or text ahead and make sure you don’t miss out.

Parkrun at the Wharf – Tomorrow 9–12pm

We’ll be set up at the Wharf tomorrow morning to feed walkers, runners, volunteers and anyone who wanders past hungry.

Savoury:
• Spanakopita & zucchini slice
• Wild party pies
• Chicken-filled focaccia
• Ham, cheese & tomato toasted sandwiches

Sweet:
• Assorted muffins
• Cinnamon scrolls
• Apple jam doughnuts with cream
• Chocolate cake with red w**e, pear & cinnamon syrup

Drinks:
• Fresh juice – carrot, orange, apple & ginger

All made by the girl crew: Jane Grylls, Jo Barrett and Pip Sambuk.

Come for a run, come for a stroll, or just come for something delicious by the water. See you down there.

Parkrun Saturdays 🤍

Saturday mornings on the island — a bit of movement, a lot of fresh air, and the very good reward at the end. We love our Saturdays like this.

Jane Grylls is back in the kitchen this week, cooking alongside Karli, Eleanor, Lou, Darcy, Isla, Maria and Alice ❤️
Young locals gaining real, hands-on experience — learning teamwork, confidence and how to show up for their community.

This week’s menu: Greens pie, orange cake, zucchini frittata, spanakopita, bean salad, ham & cheese toasties, hummingbird cake, blueberry muffins, Darren Purchese chocolate cake, Jane’s Basque cheesecake, plus freshly made juice (orange, apple and carrot) and coffee, always.

Next week: we’ve invited Jo Barrett and Pip Sumbak to The Wharf for a special pop-up bake sale — one not to miss.
