This past week has been nothing short of transformative, beginning with a surprise visit from world renowned pianist What started as a simple tea ceremony unfolded into a series of profound experiences...

I was invited to Chad Lawson's performance, and it was unlike any piano recital I've experienced. For a full hour, I found myself completely engrossed in a meditative journey that seamlessly blending piano, storytelling, breathing exercises, and self-reflection.

Before playing one of his classic pieces, Chad invited us to think of someone in our lives. The music unfolded, memories surfaced, bringing tears to my eyes. The composition took me on a journey of healing and reconciliation, leading to closure I didn't know I needed.

Chad returned for another tea ceremony before his departure. Our conversation flowed for five extraordinary hours, transitioning from daylight to candlelight. He is authentic both on stage and off stage and it created a space where I felt completely free to speak my truth. This connection has awakened new possibilities in my tea ceremony practice, inspiring me to weave deeper layers of authenticity into my art.

This weekend, I found myself deeply in my element with this beautiful group of people. I realized how true ease can foster a beautiful exchange of wisdom and culture.

During the ceremony, I shared insights on the philosophy reflected in the very nature of Gongfu tea. "Gongfu" is a expression we use in Chinese to describe any pursuit requiring dedication, persistence, and time to truly master.

This discipline is what draws me to the world of tea ceremony. It's a familiar echo of my Eastern roots, where there's a constant push for excellence, a feeling of never being good enough that drives you toward mastery.

As someone who grew up in the west, I've also experienced a culture that values the journey more, emphasizing understanding and acceptance for simply giving your best effort. Often at times I’ve navigated the inherent tensions between these two cultures.

I believe there’s a powerful synergy in embracing both. The relentless pursuit of excellence from my Eastern heritage provides the drive to continually refine my craft. Meanwhile, the Western emphasis on self-compassion allows us to take a breath and appreciate where we are on the journey.

In the art of tea, as in life, true mastery lies not in perfection, but in the harmony between striving and acceptance..☘

Recently, we celebrated the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival This festival is traditionally marked by lanterns, mooncakes, tea drinking, and gathering with loved ones. I was honored to be invited by the Haymarket Chamber of Commerce to perform a 21 step gongfu tea ceremony for a crowd that gathered to network and celebrate this special occasion.

During the 15-minute performance, I brewed two types of tea: Milky Oolong and White Peony. I began with a silent tea ceremony, preparing the Milky Oolong while piano music played softly in the background. This provided attendees with a moment of quietude to reflect amidst their busy lives. For the second part, as I brewed the White Peony tea, I explained the 21-step process and the purpose and intention behind each action.

Tea ceremonies offer more than just cultural appreciation. If you observe closely, you'll notice that they embody a wealth of ancient wisdom. I feel very grateful to have had the opportunity to share this craft with such a great crowd.

I've been a member of for the past two years and have formed many valuable connections through it. The members are of high calibre, it is an excellent organization to be a part of.

Special thanks to for hosting us at their hotel. Their team Steven and Melvin were so on top of their game, organized the event in such a proactive manner and kindly provided me with one of their super comfy rooms to prepare and rehearse beforehand.

Our Story

Teas at extreme altitudes maintain a natural sweetness with unique complexity and depth that cannot be found in the production sites of lower terrains. They are free of the bitterness and astringency associated with their mainstream counterparts.

We have teas that are cultivated between 1,968 to 5,249 feet above sea level. The difficult climatic conditions found at these extreme altitudes are highly favourable for the development of aromas, as the cold nights and misty peaks slow the growth of the tea plant, leading to a higher concentration of aromatic oils and richer flavours.

The cultivation of excellent, high altitude tea is a science perfected by expertise. Our teas come from around the world sourced only from masters of the trade. They are pesticide free, blended and packaged locally in Australia to ensure the highest standard of quality.
