To be clear this is not a cry for help, this is not me looking for pity & it’s certainly not me complaining about my life.
This is me having a week of feeling overwhelmed & trying to normalise the feelings. Acknowledging that some areas of my life are sitting around 80% this week & that’s ok.
Some may be less. Maybe even 70%.
I am a self confessed organiser, I thrive having extra things on the go & I, normally, love the challenges life throws at you.
Except this week. Did I mention I had a snake encounter at work this week?? While on social media you see the pics of the meal prepping & the walk pics, in the background I’m having daily mini hissy fits that I’m behind in my washing, the light in our bedroom isn’t working and it’s not just the globe, I’ve started 5 projects at home and not finished 1 of them, a mid week community meeting to fit in, someone forgot to buy milk, the car was unregistered for a week and where the f**k are my glasses??
How am I supposed to work full time, get my steps in, perform well at work, keep on top of home life, give my kids & husband the attention they deserve, eat enough protein, keep in contact with friends, be involved in community and still get the amount of sleep/down time in I want?
So here’s how I plan to manage that.
I’m having a weekend of not saying yes to too many things.
Today I am starting with coffee in bed, scrolling and writing this post because those things are things I love to do. So they are my priority.
I’ll do a bit of cleaning and washing to start the week again.
And 1 area. Today I will tackle 1 area that is making my life harder than it should.
And for you, I just hope you’re remembering to smile, to have a laugh, be kind not just to others but also yourself and if you fed your kids party pies not once but twice last week it’s ok, the important thing is you fed them.
Happy Saturday my friends x
