Firstly, I apologize for my English.
Some customers may already know that next week will be our last week of operation (until August 10th, so come and say goodbye to us 😭), and the new owners will start their business the week after.
We have been planning this since the beginning of the year. For a small business, managing it as a couple requires a tremendous amount of time and effort. We are so happy to see the growth of our restaurant, but it’s time for us to take a break.
Six years ago, we arrived in Australia with nothing and moved to the Sunshine Coast. Before COVID hit, we spent all our savings to buy this shop.
Thanks to your support, we got through the tough times during COVID.
In the years of running G’s Asian Restaurant, we adopted a little black cat named Mimi from Sippy Creek Animal Refuge, obtained permanent residency in Australia early last year, and by the end of last year, we finally bought our own house in Australia and adopted our second family member, a greyhound named Jiu Jiu, from the Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP).
All these milestones are tied to the memory of our restaurant and to the people we met every week.
The phrase "thank you" feels too insufficient to express our gratitude. Over these five years, we are thankful for your weekly visits, for liking our food, and for all our furry friends. There’s so much more we want to say, but words fail to capture it all. Parting is such sweet sorrow. We will continue to live on the Sunshine Coast, and perhaps one day we will meet again on the beach.
